255 on rear tires 220 Style?

Hi!

My car has 220 Style wheels.

Previous owner put Hankook 275/35/r19. Now I'm going to replace it, and I'd like to put the OE 265/35/19, because I don't like the height of the 275s.

But in Brazil the only options for these specs are Michelin and Continental, which are GREAT brands, GREAT grip, and therefore more expensive.

You have what you pay for, right, but I do more burn tires than need fantastic grip, so I'd prefer to have Hankook or Kumho tires, which are good regular tires, cheap, and I can burn happily.

The only specs these brands have here are: 275/35 and 255/35.

Is it possible to use the 255s? Does somebody have pictures of those with the 220 Style wheel?

255 could work but it's too narrow for a 9.5 inch wheel.
I have 275/30/19 all they way around on 19x10

I have 255/35-19 and 275/35-19 on the 220 wheels, MPSS with star. Fits and looks great.

I thought on 275 30 too. Do you have a picture of it? I'm afraid I wouldn't like the tire height.

But about beeing too narrow, the 275 are 10mm wider than OE, and the 255 are the same 10mm narrower. If it's safe, I wouldn't mean.

Yes, but I'm thinking on 255s on the rear wheels.

Why? Is it because you can't get 265 in the tire you want and 275 is too tall?

Yes. I wouldn't say too tall, but I think that the 275/35 tire height fits better the Style 359's than the 220's, which is better fitted by 265/35 (IMO).

And, as you said, I can't get the 265/35 here (except for Michelin and Continental, which I feel bad for burning as I do).

I think 245/35/19 front and 255/35/19 rear on 220M wheels are stock sizes. That's what my car had when I originally bought it. I now use 255/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear because I like the aggressive look more. Here's some pics I took a long time ago just for my reference when I needed to buy new tires. I can never remember what I have so that was the point of these bad pics.

Edit: found some more old pics

I had 235/255 before because I couldn't find the right tires in stock a while ago and the balance was not very good.

I now go with F255/R265 on LA220s because it understeers less.
