Extremely easy. In my case it took 2 mins to read the ECU and 1 min to program it after they sent me the flash. If you aren't sure about a step, just email those guys.

dude a lot of us have done it ourselves... make sure you follow instructions carefully and to the letter and if in doubt then STOP! .. otherwise you'll be fine...
you'll also get great support from Evolve if you have any issues |

sweet okay just dont wanna screw anything up. my center section and stage 2 tune should be installed in the next couple weeks when i get time. what are the choices for the throttle mapping they list? can you have it like it is now with 3 settings controled by the idrive?

Hi Chris,
The throttle mapping choice is really just for your standard throttle setting. We give you the option of letting us know how you would prefer the pedal to react. For those without a sport button we can program it to react like one - more direct and sensitive. But for M3 owners, as you already have a sport button, its rarely requested. |

Yeah, it's easy.
The initial read is only a few minutes. After you send in the file, they may find that you have a tuner locked ecu. If you do, you will have to read (download) the file from your ecu again, but it will be a much larger file. Mine took about 1.5 hours. I just hooked up my battery tender and it was fine. After that, uploading the tune, etc. only takes a few minutes. Altough it sounds like a lot, it really is fairly simple, and WELL worth it.

My software was to old so Sal sent me the 140 version (5 mb file) took only 15 minutes to upload the file to the ECU and directly after i uploaded the evolve file wich only took 20 seconds! We had a event here in Sweden this weekend and what im most happy about is that i was just as fast as the stage 3 335:s the hole way....rolling start on sec gear 50-270 km/h, Think that tells everything about how great this tune is!

when listing the octane you will be running for this tune, is the car still able to retard the ignition to prevent detonation just like stock if you use a lower octane gas?

Thanks Dave ... I wouldn't recommend it regularly. We tune for 93 so if you have to use 91 I would not fill up entirely and do, at worst, a mix unti you can fill up with 93.

Question from Russian customer) First one. I did ask to make tune file for 98(eu), does this mean that my tune file is adopted for 93(us)? Secound one. I have check sign for back row lambda's, to my opinion they are dead, does this thing harms performance? I didnt notice that, but maybe it does bad in case of performance...
