I've had at least one Lab in the family since I was about 3 years old...100% agree.

I had "A" dog in the family since I was old enough to remember...GSD, Samoyed, Lhasa Apso, mutt. When I started making my own money, it was all Labs. Best all round dogs you can find.

A buddy is a K9 handler and he has 3 Mals...all working dogs and just incredible animals. If I had the time to work them, I'd have one, but unless you're willing to put in the work, they will try to eat your house.

Sadly it tells more about your families than the dogs. Labs are solid but not the only breed for the job.

By far my best dog ever was Tessa. A mix of lab and flat coat and the dad was a Finnish spits. She fucking ruled our family with her attitude. She realized I was pregnant every time sooner than I did, she protected me in ways bigger dogs never could've, she bit a man in the ass twice for breaking in to my condo.

If I was out with the kids, she got mad because she thought it was her responsibility to draw the lines. Kids swimming was okay, if I was in the water too. If not, she made sure I'd go to the water.

She obeyed nobody. Not even me and she had a police dogs training. She just looked at a person telling her what to do and with her eyes she told them to fuck off. But if I looked at her, she took her place at my heel and gave me this look. "fine mom you're a bitch, let's go and kick some ass".

I miss my dog.

Oh, I've had many other breeds over the years...Doberman, Irish Wolfhound, Border Collies for the farm, Golden Retrievers, 1 Bull Mastiff....but we've always had Labs in the mix...

Yeah, a dog taught me how to walk, and took me to school every morning for all his life. He was 16 when he died and I still dream my good dreams about him.

Yeah. I have now a jack Russell and a Gs as the family pets. My current one has been out with me a few times already and she is pretty good, even without a formal training. And the most important thing: She runs through the house waking up the kids with kisses every day.

I love how the thread derails from baby goats to baby humans. So typical OT, so typical.

You better get to posting more pics. There are no internet points for last place!

Unfortunately all of my childhood pictures are literally..., pictures. I don't keep my damn photo album here at work. You need to be patient.

I've got an awesome pic of me on my bike with training wheels and a hockey helmet that's 2 sizes too big. Basically I was the worlds baddest pimp.

You can take a picture of a picture? How does that not trap your soul into your phone?

Apple worked out those bugs with the iPhone6.

Hmpf, I'm using a Galaxy S3 Mini, so I'm almost certain I'll die if I take a picture of my own picture.

I'll continue to be like Belgium and use a polaroid to take a polaroid of my polaroids. I know those don't trap souls for certain since Belgie did it at least 3 times and he's still lifting weights.
