if they are going to go through all this trouble for their new uber cool car, at least give it some custom rims and maintain both cars aspects of individuality. its not a hard equation to work out really....

I'm getting ZCP wheels on my order and don't really mind if the 1M is getting them too

That's not the point of the car. BMW wanted to build this car as quickly and as cheaply as possible. That means raiding the parts bin and strictly limiting the amount of new component testing. Everything that goes into the 1M is pulled from an existing BMW car, primarily the M3 (seats, steering wheels, tires, wheels, LSD, suspension components, etc) and the 135i (modified N54).

Do you not see the irony in your own protest? IOW, why not a similar post from someone enraged that the ZCP wheels are going to be available to someone like you (or me) who does not have the actual ZCP package. Shouldn't they be exclusive to that package only, not just any ricer that wants to slap them on some tractor-height 6MT '08 M3?? Yeah, I know you've got an '11, but not a ZCP.

Doesn't bother me, increases the probablility that I can find replacements in the future when the impossible inevitably happens.

I really wish the E46 CSL was released in the U.S., because I would jump all over the opportunity to get one. Hell, I'd even take the GTS.

I test drove a 2010 GT-R, and if what you want are those noises, vibrations, and rumbles, then it just may be your car. However, the unpredictability part, well, the GT-R is WAY too advanced/smart for that; it drives like a video game.
