GTS Wheels and Recommended Tire Size
Does anyone have experience with running a 275/30-19 or 265/30-19 (F) and 295/30-19 (R) on the 359M/GTS wheel without spacers? I have a non-competition package E92 M3 with stock suspension and I want absolute zero rub.
Thanks! |

The M3 GTS is equipped with 255/35-19 front and 285/30-19 rear tires from the factory. You could go with that fitment, or jump up to 265/30-19 up front.

Pirelli P Zero Corsa's, however you could go with Continental Extremecontact Sport, Bridgestone S0-4 Pole Position, or the Khumo Ecsta PS91 in the same sizes.

Thanks for the help, but I'm really not a fan of the GTS sizes because the rear's are actually slightly smaller in diameter than the front's. I'm really on the fence with this! I want to maintain as much sidewall as I can because of the roads around here, but I also want as wide as I can go.

It is certainly possible to mount 275/30-19 on the front 9" wheels, and 295/30-19 on the rear 10" wheels, however this would not be ideal. From a handling perspective, it would be best to have wider front and rear wheels for proper sidewall support. - Ryan

I can tell you that even on a tire that's wide for its size, the 255/275 combo does not rub. It's still a lot of tire for a street-driven car.

I know a lot of people recommend 255/35-19 but I tried those (Michelin PSS) when I had my Morr wheels. They were a 19"x9" with a +22 offset, which put them 9mm further out than the GTS +31mm, and they rubbed on the inside wheel well when turned 1/2-3/4 of lock. I know they used this wheel on the GTS, but I wonder if they used a different liner or left it off all together.

Depends on the specific tire. They don't look out of place and 9/10 people won't be able to tell the difference; those sizes just give you a much bigger selection of tires without making a big change to the overall size. The F80 M3/M4 actually switched to these sizes as OEM.

It should look pretty good and wide and it should even make the ride better. All that while improving performance and I think any size bigger is overkill. Stay away from the 30 sidewall it will only be a little wider but you sacrifice your ride quality significantly.

Thanks for all the help! I may try the 255/35-19 & 275/35-19 again on these wheels. As I said earlier, this combination rubbed with my Morr wheels on the front axle fender liners, but I'm hoping the 9mm difference in offset will eliminate that. If it doesn't work, I may have some very lightly used tires for sale

The E9x ZCP wheels are 19x9 and 19x10. The F8x wheels are the exact same widths yet wear the 255/275 tire sizes I mentioned.

Well, I finally took the plunge and purchased Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires in 255/35-19 and 275/35-19 yesterday for my M3. Thanks for everyone's input!

Well went with the 275/35-19 and 255/35-19 Michelin Pilot 4S and absolutely love the setup. Used McGard black lug bolts/locks, black valve stems and black wheel weights.
