Holy shhhhhhhheeeeet that looks incredible. Especially since you can compare it to drivers side right there… the F83 seats just look so damn good!! Amazing work… can’t wait to see how you got it all to work.

Awesome work! Would love to see how you wired the headrest badge in your write-up. I'm running F80 M3 seats in my E90, and that is the only bit of wiring I never got around to figuring out.

In my case, the illuminated headrest badge is pin 7 on the F8x seat wiring harness connector. I took lots of pics through my process. The color of this wire may be different in your case. I simply used a piece of wire to tap this pin 7 wire into the footwell light. Works perfect.

Got the driver's seat installed and everything finished today. Very happy with the results! No errors, only had to code a few items. I took a lot of notes, will put it all together in a guide sometime soon and post it.

Yes, I moved the E93 modules over to the F83 seats. They were a direct swap, plug and play. The wiring harnesses is where the pin swapping is done. Everything works as expected - all seat movements, heat, lumbar/side bolsters, seat memory, buckle detection, and the headrest badges illuminate.

Has anyone been able to get in contact with the OP? Trying to purchase a rear seat bracket kit from him. Looks like he hasn't been on the forum for a few months. No reply to PM. Any help appreciated - thanks!

EDIT: think I've found his number and company

I placed an order on his website few weeks ago but it is listed as back/special order. I may give him a ring soon.

Everything seems to be working. All buttons/functions work as expected. This was just the passenger seat, but now that I've got somewhat of a grip on it I doubt the driver's seat will be too much trouble.

Will need to sell the "M4" illuminated headrest badges and order the "M3" badges now

I've been documenting everything so far (with photos). Once I'm all done I'll put it all together to share.
All modern cars have this feature. They all come with "explosive" solenoid that has almost like a bullet that shoots inside a chamber in event of a crash and locks the belt webbing in place. They are designed to lock the belt for a few seconds and then release so that the person can get out, but not always they release and most of the time get stuck. I worked for a company that rebuilds seatbelts after accidents back in the day and seen this 100s of times!

The way it works is the charge in the solenoid is connected to a simple sensor that is standard throughout the maker (every BMW I seen has the exact same sensor connection). You can grab a belt from any BMW and plug it in to any other BMW and the car will "recognize" it. So, if you were able to connect the yellow/orange male-female connectors between the seatbelt and the car, you have a working charged belt and in the even of a crash (God forbid) will set off the charge and lock you in place. No coding or anything like that is required.

I have also swapped out a bunch of seat belts myself, on my own cars. Hope this helps!

Anyone with a DYI to install F83 seats on a 2012 E93? How hard is it to wire them?

Sorry, I did say that I'd put a DIY guide together for this but I haven't done it yet.. will try to do it soon. I did most of the write-up as I went through the process but need to finish it up.

I'll PM you what I did put together so far.

Hi! Can I ask, how much of a difference did this make in seating position? My biggest criticism of the E92 m3 is how high you sit, it doesn't feel like a sports car at all. Does swapping the F8x seat make a transformational change, or more of a small incremental improvement?
