It's all up to you in regards to when or if you want to replace them. There is no specific mileage interval that you should or shouldn't replace them. |

Replacing rod bearings is useless. If your car is among the near total majority that experiences no RB issue then it will work either way, and if it's one of the few doomed it will fail sooner or later with old or new RB anyway.
The only notable effect of replacing RB is a placebo on you, not the car. This thread is about you belonging of not to that group of people, not the car. |

Related issue/situation, but only sort of:
I've got 61K on the clock, and my Assurant warranty (according to the rep, who's been great) will cover a maintenance replacement of the bearings IF the dealership tells them it needs to be done. However, as we all know, looking at the bearings is essentially the same as changing them in terms of labor, so no real point, says I. Still, interesting to know that the warranty has a clause for maintenance on this issue... if I could somehow run a scope in an see the bearings, that'd be great -- but just not possible. |

I would say swap them at 80k-100k miles, although that's pretty much never considering i have a 2008 with 42k miles and put less than 4-5k a year. By that time, the car is gonna be 16-20 years old and realistically, i probably will want to be driving something else as a daily by then.
60k seems overly cautious to me however, but if you can do them yourself.....why not...most of the cost is labor anyways. i feel like if you go over 100k miles on the originals, you are starting to press your luck but several people claim they have so who really knows. |

I did one motor around 30k. They were worn but didn't look like they were going to grenade. Looking forward I would swap at 50k for peace of mind

The more threads like this the more it makes me second guess the motor. I'm at 80k for my 2011 ZCP, previous owner never (drove it hard) or on the track. If the motor needed bearings it would have blown already. I may do it though, if I had $2500 to spare loool

I did them with roughly 80k on the odo.
The shop that did mine, told me afterwards they've never seen rod bearings in such an good condition. I was like...Maaaaan...you serious? |

We need more reports like that. So far about 95% of the bearings coming out are excessively worn. If it was the other way around, I would not be concerned. But so far, that has not been the case.

Probably 100k miles. I'm at 88k, so it would probably take me another 5 years.

also keep in mind this is the interwebz. most of the reports are people chiming in with issues or looking for help. we don't hear from all the owners who are not having issues

If I remember correctly, you track your car quite a bit right? So, as one of the posters said in this thread, replacing rod bearings is useless "The only notable effect of replacing RB is a placebo on you, not the car" I agree with this.
