Michelin tells us we can expect most sizes to start showing up around the end of February-March.

Fantastic thank you... can't wait for you guys to get some more real world tests on them.

Do you know if they run similar sizes to the PSS (ie a tad wider / squarer)?

They should run very similar sizes to the PSS. Although, with these being brand new, we have not physically measured them yet to confirm.

Hi Keith, Looking for preferred tire size input on moving to a 19 X 9.5 and 10.5 rim (Vorsteiner vff 101's). Looking at Mich Pilot AS 3+ and I'm assuming 255's in the front and 285's in the rear. Car is 2012 e92 comp package - currently has stock ZCP wheel/tire set up. Thank you

Front - 255/35/19
Rear - 285/35/19
These sizes would work on the 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 wheels, as long as the offsets are not too aggressive. We do not sell Vorsteiner wheels, so I cannot guarantee the fitment of their wheels. I would recommend checking with the wheel manufacturer to confirm they know those sizes would work.

Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback, I got conflicting information all the way around yesterday- a rep at tire rack via remote messaging told me 255/35/19 and 275's in the rear (so this is what I ordered - it made sense to keep the same stagger ratio from the stock wheels which are 245 and 265 respectively), only to have a Vorsteiner rep call me back and suggest I go with a 275/30/19 and 295/30/19 so very different view points.

Is there a concern on your part that the 275 won't be enough vs. 285 ? Offset for the Vorsteiner's are 22 and 25

I dealt with Keith on the phone recently, I bought BBS wheels w/ PSS used on here, from MTreeGuy. They needed hub rings to fit the M3 - called TireRack and asked for Keith.

He really knew his stuff, found me the correct hub rings from BBS and sent them to me with the circlips required. Overall a pleasure to deal with!

I'm glad that we have someone from TireRack to help us out, they're a great resource for anything wheel and tire related

There are several different sizes that will work. That is why I always recommend checking with the wheel manufacturer. They should know best as they have actually test fit their wheels on the car.
We list these sizes as being most appropriate for the vehicle:
Front - 255/35/19
Rear - 275/35/19

I know many M3 customers are running the slightly larger:
Front - 255/35/19
Rear - 285/35/19
Which is why I did not see a problem with it.

With that said, 275 and 295's seem very aggressive to me. If the wheel manufacturer can guarantee those to fit, then I do not see a problem with it. Although, that would be more aggressive than what Tire Rack can guarantee.

Thanks again!

Thank you for clarifying. I'll start with the 275's and maybe go up to 285's, a local shop is giving me almost the same price as TR and will allow me to exchange up to 30 days if I don't like the 275 fitment. Have a good one! Oh, and I agree the Vorsteiner recommendation was very aggressive and not my preferred option.

So I had the MPS AS3+'s in 255/35/19 put on the front and have rub at full lock when turning but not every time and not in reverse.... does this make any sense at all? Seems most pronounced during left turns at full lock and low speeds

Many other M3 owners are running 255/35/19 on 19x9.5 wheels without problems. I would check to see where it is rubbing and see if there is something out of wack or if something can be adjusted to eliminate the rubbing.

Hi Keith,

I'm going to be running the BBS FI wheel in 19 X 9.5 ET +28 and 19 X10.5 ET +23 and I'm looking for a tire setup that will fit and not rub. My current suspension is MCS coilovers with a slight drop from ZCP height.

What would you recommend in terms of tire sizes. I was thinking of 265/30 and 295/30, or 255/35 and 285/30. My only concern with the 255/35 in the front is that they may rub.

Please let me know what you think!

Keith, I am surprised no one asked this question yet, is there any forum special discount? Some advertisers offer discounts to forum members which is pretty cool.

Tire Rack would recommend:
Front - 255/35/19
Rear - 275/35/19

It is possible with additional modifications you may be able to make larger sizes work. Although based on the factory specs for the car, 255/275 is the largest I can guarantee.

There are no additional discounts available for forum members. Although, a percentage of your order does go back to the forum. This helps keep the forum up and running.

Continental is currently running a mail in rebate and Michelin tends to run rebates often. I would definitely keep an eye out for the manufacture rebates.

Hello Keith.

I have volks wheels with 265 35 and 285 35 Pzero on my 2011 e92 m3. its 9.5 20 et and 10.5 22 et.

Unfortunately, I am rubbing with stock EDC ZCP suspension height. On turns it will rub my front fender liners. The back only have like 1 finger clearance.

I cannot go 255/35 as that will be too much off the overall diameter from stock, even with current set up it is 1.77% lower overall diameter.

Its weird cause i see so many people running 265/35 18s here.

What do you suggest to get rid of the rub?

For the fronts I have already cut some of my fender liners. Haven't touched the rear.

If 265/35/18 is too big for your application and you do not want to run 255/35/18, the next option to consider would be 245/40/18 (factory size).
245/40/18 will fit on a 9.5" wheel and is almost the same overall diameter as 285/35/18.

I am very surprised you would even suggest 245/40/18 on a 9.5 . It will look too stretched , right? Altho these will increase the overall diameter by ~11cm, which might make the rubbing up front worse or equal, since its less wider.

Damn idk what to do, im so surprised it even rubbed as these are made by volks for bmw m3..

I think the only way is to cut and dremmel my way thru for the front...idk what to do with the rear tho.

Not sure if pulling rear fender will help, since it's most likely rub at the end part which meets the plastic part which cannot be pulled. Any ideas on puling/ modifying the plastic part?

Hello Keith.

I am considering 245/40/18 on my 9.5 and 265/40/18 on 10.5 but I have a few questions. You have a lot of experience with tyres and wheel, so I want to ask you these.

1. How does a stretched tyre (245 on a 9.5 for example) affects performance and handling generally. Particularly in high speed cornering?
* to make it easier for me to understand, lets go extreme a lil. Lets say I put a 225 on a 9.5 and stretch it, how does this effect performance particularly high speed cornering?

2. What difference will it be for rubbing issues when say using 245 on a 9.5" vs 245 on a 9"?. Will the most upper part of the tyre be equal to as if I put it on a 9"?
Let me make myself more clear, lets say I use a 245 on a 9 inch wheel and 245 on a 9.5 wheels inch, the rubbing issues will be similar or has a lot of difference?

Thanks a ton for your time here.
