Both DCT paddles down shifting help?

I installed an M button from IND yesterday and the install went fine, all buttons work normally, however after putting everything back together I noticed that both my paddles (right and left) are down shifting. The shift knob functions normally though.

All the wiring connection were put back to the same spots, any idea what could be the issue?

I would pop the air bag out and recheck your wiring paths. Make sure no wires were pinched. I am assuming you didn't have to unplug the paddle wiring to change out the M button cover. If you did unplug the paddle wiring recheck those connections.

So I took it apart and noticed a pin on the right side was bent, so I bent it back in place and went for a test drive...now my right paddle doesn't work and my left paddle triggers the horn! So I opened everything back up again, looked at the wiring, everything seemed fine, EXCEPT i noticed there were plastic hooks to cleanly route the wiring so I routed the wires through those guides put everything back together and now both paddles work!

The wires were probably getting pressed together by the airbag and one of the pins was slightly bent. Good news is that it only takes me 3 minutes to get the airbag and trim off the car now lol.

I had a weird DCT paddle issue after installing aftermarket paddles.. car would up-shift 2 gears with every one paddle move.. turns out some of the grease around the little ball bearing found its way onto the electrical contacts in the same area.. cleaned it up and haven't had any issue since.
