Dinan Sway Bar Hole Setting
I got the Dinan front sway bar for my E92 M3. I have Bilstein coilovers and -2.5 camber up front. What hole setting you recommend to have the steering as neutral as possible?

I think it’s more like 15/50/90% stiffer.
Dinan says start in the middle and go from there. That’s what I did, albeit ZCP with their camber plates (-2F, -1.8R). Hard to say for your setup but I’d still start in the middle and adjust as desired. |

Which hole is the 90% stiffer? When you adjusted from the middle you went stiffer?

I would mount it in the second hole.
The medium stiffness works with any kind of car/setup.

The question would be what track and how fast do you want to go? For public roads the stock sway bars are fine. If you want a sportier drive, change the stock springs. From a cost perspective, springs are in expensive to change. |

first hole as in "outside", then yes.
Hole closest to the inside is stiffest.

On a 32mm hollow Dinan or Hotchkiss, I would start with both in the middle or even one middle and one stiff before going to both full stiff. I run a 29mm hollow Eibach on full stiff and like it (B8, H&R Sport, pulled camber pins, 265/35/18 and 285/30/18) for my street use. Mine is probably a little stiffer than the Dinan in the middle setting, but was only $250 on sale.

That is quite stiff on the front Eibach measured bar rate: 3 position adjustable P1 = 52 N/mm (297 lbs/in) +53% P2 = 59 N/mm (337 lbs/in) + 73% P3 = 64 N/mm (366 lbs/in) + 88% |

The spring rate is the total resistance the two SB arms provide. What is not the same is the angle of the SB link. It is on the Dinan web site |

Yes you can use different holes on different sides, the bar doesn't care which side is twisting it, the total lever arm length (both sides added together) determines how much it twists, basically
That said, I'd just stick it on full soft or the middle hole on both sides. If you really, REALLY need it to be more granular than that, you're probably to the point that you should be making a spring change. People tend to bind up their swaybars getting fancy with different holes side-to-side, just because they get the link length a bit wrong or whatever do not recommend full stiff unless you're using an R-compound tire with a relatively soft front spring and need to keep the suspension in its happy place

I studied this last year; my recollection is that full stiff with the 29mm Eibach is a little stiffer than the middle position on the 32mm Dinan bar. I like full stiff with the Eibach. I tried both middle, but did not try 1 middle and 1 full stiff.

I already have H&R Sport springs and am not sure how much more spring I would want to run on the B8 shocks and struts, plus I don’t want a stiffer ride all of the time. I also don’t really want to put coilovers on this car.
On my E36 M3, I have 550 lb front springs, TCK SA, and a 33mm Hotchkiss front bar set on full stiff with a 24mm rear bar in full loose. |

The ride is harsh if you lower it too the max. Only drop it like 1-1.25 inch so it has travel. If you do not slam it too much, comfort on this feels like OEM sport mode in terms of compliance. |
