Did a 1:47.5 at Laguna Seca with a pretty much stock car (only changed pads, fluid, and lines). I think I can shave off another second if I get more confidence with the braking.

I came home and watched a 2009 clip of Randy Pobst doing a 1:42 with a stock e92 and my mind was blown. Made me realize I was driving at like 7/10 when it felt like it was 10/10 haha

Alright, new track so this isn't spamming...

Track: Pacific Raceways
Time: 1:27.6

Same setup as above. Second time at Pacific so I'm pretty happy with that time, even though much more must be left considering my first time was last July when I was a newb.

Pads were finished after the 5th session, and when I went to remove the lug bolts in the right rear wheel I found that one of them was broken! Thankful my pads stopped me from going out onto the track again with that bomb waiting to go off.

Aaand more bad video with wind noise cuz I suck...looks slow as hell but that first turn past the wall is apexed at 145+ GPS.

Me and my buddy going back and forth all day. Turbo S2k widebody with a great driver. Photo by a talented photographer friend of ours Kirk Myhre.

Track: The Ridge Motorsports Park
Lap times: 1:46.95, 1:46.93, 1:46.94 in consecutive sessions.
Tires: used pirelli DH 285/645R18 on 18x10's

No run groups today (open lapping all day) so I tried a different approach. Got them to let me out into the biggest gap possible, ran a slow but somewhat aggressive warmup lap, then ran one or two hot laps before catching traffic. Then ended the session and tried again in 45ish minutes. Really feel like I understand this setup very well now.

And some crappy video...
Another PNW track guy.

Hoping the border opens so I can get to The Ridge at the end of September. Not exactly optimistic at this point though.

I was hoping to try out area 27 at some point, and I also miss bouldering in squamish. But yea, it's not looking good.

I was able to run the 285/35/18 on a 10.5 et 25 wheel square setup. Running 3.5* front camber. The 285 is actually pretty short for a 285. Just .1" taller than most 275's.

I didn't realize it was that little difference. According to Nitto the NT01 in a 275/35 is 25.55in and a 285/35 RS4 is 25.7in, good to know!

That's more likely due to the nt-01 being a 6/32" treadware tire and the rs4 being a 9/32" tire. Less likely to have anything to do with the section width (275 vs 285).

Could be, I've never looked into street tires much. Just recently started looking for good endurance race options (for >200tw tire) and the RS4 seems to be a popular option.

Fun and HOT weekend with NASA Utah. Ended up P2 in TT3 both days, tons of traffic day 1, never got a clear lap. Frustrating as there are a lot of very high HP cars out there with not very high corner speeds. Day 2 was excellent, Austin in an E46 M3 got me by 0.12s in TT3 - I gave it everything I could but just didn't quite put together a really solid lap. Between the first two sessions sunday I could have had a low 2:04.xx but that's the way it goes. I was hoping to get close to the times I ran there in 2013 at NASA Nationals in TT3 but the class has been slowed down a bit since then and, honestly, the E92 is still a street car and real heavy. I'm 325whp average, 345-350whp at my current min weight would max me out and that could easily get me there.

This is session 2, lap 1 (2:05.0), I braked a touch too late into T1 (lost 6mph at the apex compared to most other laps... ugh) but otherwise this was a decent lap. A little sloppy but the second half is good according to the data. Next time I'll buy A7s instead of the BFGs and show up to win!

Hey that's similar to what I did a couple of years ago when my car was mostly stock! Only changed brakes and tires. Randy is a beast...

Keep plugging away and the times will drop as we all focus on driving better

Super fun event with Gridlife. PPIR is a pretty boring roval layout, like 7 left turns and 2 rights, the right front gets BOILED off on the banking and into T4. I tried a lot of things and ran basically the same lap +/- 0.2s all weekend. Would love to get about 200whp more in the car for these events. The track got super slippery as the weekend went on from drifting.

The Gridlife event format was a blast. Lots to do in between Time Attack sessions, other motorsports to watch, and a great party Friday and Saturday night. I can't imagine how much more fun it will be once life is back to normal and the concert + fan crowd is back to full capacity. Definitely planning to make more of these events next year.

Don't ever buy a GoPro/External Mic Adapter. Hot garbage.

Nice looks like fun. Friend of mine was out there in GTLC races. I am doing gridlife Road America in a few weeks here, but only HPDE. Only because I know I'll need the 200whp you wished you had haha. No real good spot for my M3 with the mods I have.

Looks like you could have used a harness in your video?

It’s in a box on the shelf. I need just a little more time!

Super fun day with the CSF Bimmer Challenge guys at Speed Ventures. Lots of open laps, some super fast cars, and one dirty dirty track. I was hoping to get close to breaking the 1:50 barrier but no dice today, the tires corded 2 sessions after this and the track was filthy from everyone going off. Still a solid PB for me and the potential is there, hopefully I can make it back to BW sometime soon and try to put a better lap together. This one is not great through T1, Phil Hill, and the Sweeper.

Autobahn country club full course 2:37.03

Was able to get a personal best on autobahn country club full course. I still have some time to improve too. Early on in the lap the predictive lap timer was low 36's. So was trying not to push too hard that I loose the lap, but also maintain. Ended up playing it a little too safe and slipped into 2:37.03.

Two things always jump out to me at PPIR:

1. I never really feel the dip over the tunnel between turns 1&2, but video sure does show I should be puckering up

2. Counter-steering headed to the wall as you are coming back up onto the oval.. you know it's not right, but it's the only way to get the car where it needs to be quickly.

Nice runs! I'll send you some velcro for your track mate

It's a pretty solid laptime for a car that weighs 3500#s. How many heat cycles did you have on the Hoosier A7s?

That session was HC #8. They corded on HC 10. The 295s really aren’t big enough for the E92, they get hot real fast on a car this heavy. I really don’t want to bend the fenders (or modify the front fenders) to fit 315s but that is what needs to happen.

How is your weight at 3400 with you in the car? Have you gutted it? I see you pulled the seats.

My e92 is a single hump mostly stripper, and she sits at 3550 with a half tank of gas. Add me and I'm close to 3800.

Please don't tell me it's titanium nuts and bolts!
