Exhaust Muffler Hanger
How often do the hanger/brackets for the rear mufflers need to be changed? Has anyone had experience with either of these PU alternatives?
#1 - is a PU hanger insert from Revshift. https://www.revshift.com/product-p/pei-m3.htm #2 - Billet hanger bracket with PU core from Hack Engineering https://www.hackengineering.co.uk/pr...ust-hanger-v2/ Do they work or add any NVH? |

Mine's still hanging in after 9 years and countless muffler changes. It does look a tad sad though, so probably replace with OEM any years now.

Just for the sake of information keeping, the Hack Engineering units are 72A PU and zero NVH claimed by Hack Engineering.
Powerflex also make some, with 60A PU: https://www.powerflex.co.uk/product-...ket/13294.html |

I have a Varis rear diffuser lower section and over time the rear muffler seems to have sagged and is now touching the diffuser. That's why I was considering a stronger bracket with metal all around.

I was thinking about the same for different reasons.
1.) rubber is damaged 2.) I suspect a possibility that it have some impact on my exhaust sound. |

I have spent money on performance parts, but have not bought a high performance muffler bracket yet. Mine are original at 12 years and 103k miles. How many horsepower does it add?

Just picked up a set of these as well as a set of couplers. It's going to be a few weeks before I can get some garage time, but I'll report back. They appear to be pretty nice though. and yes, i'll be using titanium hardware.

the hardware supplied with this is a sleeve that goes through the bushing, two nuts, and a large washer. you re-use your bolt that secures the muffler hanger to this mount. i know i can source titanium hardware for the nut/bolt/washer. the reason i went with the street version of this mount is my rear exhaust weighs 17 lbs and the mount doesn't need to be super rigid. i'm also looking into getting some titanium sleeves for my brake caliper bridges made. again, my time in the garage is short in the summer time, so this might take a bit. i just need to get them off for some measurements. if these sleeves are close enough to being the same spec as the sleeves that go through these exhaust bushings, these sleeves will also be titanium.

so i got around to getting these mounts from ebay and getting them optimized with titanium hardware. they didn't fit great, but i was also being lazy and didn't take the exhaust off of the car. i have some new oem bulb clamps in hand as well (my old ones are just tired). i just didn't feel like taking the exhaust completely off today. wasn't feeling it.
its not that they can't work, i just didn't want to force it. my exhaust weighs 17lbs and is actually plenty sturdy without the side mounts, so its not a big deal anyways. if they don't fit with some massaging, i'll just leave them off.

They are close, too, I just didn't want to muscle it. I'll try to install properly soon. I compared them to the oem hangers and the dimensions are super close.

My Powerflex exhaust hangers finally arrived and I had them installed at the exhaust shop. Whole exhaust had to come out as I had to repair a crack at the x-pipe anyway.
Good thing I got them as one of big rubber hangers was already broken and the rest weren't in good shape. With the exhaust off installation wasn't complicated, no modifications necessary to the mufflers. Just from the short drive home I didn't notice any NVH. Then again, my car is fairly loud and stiff so maybe it's hidden by the other noises. If there is NVH it's probably minor. Hopefully these last the lifetime of the car. |

aren't you guys afraid that by using these poly bushings, you are limiting the exhaust movement to much and end up with other parts breaking like the manifold studs or the manifold itself?
