E46 Quick Release Wheel

This is something that I've wanted to do for a while because getting in and out of the car can be a pain. So I called Bimmerworld and got a Sparco wheel and the Krontec quick release that was recommend to me as being top notch. It really is nice to look at and playing around gives a really nice locking feel between the hub and wheel.

Any how since I still drive the car on the street occasionally I have to maintain at least the turn signals and wipers. Which I was told wouldn't be a problem. So I get everything and take it to the shop only for them to tell me that it won't work. I've seen other guys out there with quick releases and am just looking for some guidance on this situation, as Ive spent all but 700 bucks on this stuff… :/
