Part of me does feel a little for these people. They have nobody to look up to growing up, no examples of what pursuing an education or even a trade, law enforcement, etc. can get you in life. When you're broke and hopeless and you see the drug dealers getting women and money, it's very easy to choose that path. There's a toxic generational culture problem in these communities. I'm not saying they are victims, but they certainly don't live in an environment conducive to doing anything but gangbanging.

All change begins in the home, but the notion of suggesting personal responsibility = being labeled a racist by SJWs, Hollywood elites, and the media.

I always watch shows on TV about drug dealers and one time a level headed guy was caught. He told the cops how he was just trying to hustle while saving money to get out of the "game"

I wonder why more people don't do this. Some were making like $500-$1000 per day cash. Save for a year or two. Buy a place away from the hole that will suck you back in, and then semi-retire. (Or maybe they do and those are just the stories we don't see)

They need to read some financially independent retire early blogs about frugality, haha. Many grow up not having much, therefore, it will not take much to achieve 4x annual spending.

It's the same question you can ask those committing white collar crime. In the end, the money is just too addictive when compared to the effort it would take to earn the same amount in an honest way.
