Ohc steering wheel
Hey guys. Would like to piggy back off this... I just got one of the ohc steering wheels. I used the 12v from horn then a wire off the clock spring to the obd controller box.. And it worked for a few days. Buy then I was doing some other work and decided to set up the wheel with different colors to LEDs and now the wheel won't work properly. It turns on but when I press the right button it shuts off and all you can see are the button LEDs lit. The actual indicator LEDs and the display shut off and work turn on until you either hit the horn, turn the car off then on, or disconnect/reset the box. And even after all that, once you press n hold the right button it just shuts off. Any insight? 08 E92 335i auto.

OHC LED steering wheel gear shift lights
Yea I've just done one, came out quite well, I'm just looking for how to wire it for the E9X series.
All guides are just so vague... |

Yeah they are.. I have an E92. I found out that I worked it correctly it's just a faulty controller box. Getting it replaced with the newer version gen 4. So the horn is the 12 v and the ground of course is the one bolted to the frame of the wheel on the left side. Then just use the second pin behind the clock spring and you're 👍🏽.

Another Q

So if I'm taking 12v from the horn and using the ground on the wheel why do I need to tap in to the 2nd pin on the clock spring and with which cable... Ahhhhh |

Junk
Yeah these things are junk. Bought another one for my Audi. And I’m having the same issues after one day of use *♂️…
So far I have 3 wheels, for 2 different cars and none work.. what a waste. Last edited by Eturnulrs704; 05-17-2023 at 01:04 PM.. Reason: Adding info |
