yeah I drive immediately as the manual says after cold start and keep revs nice and easy until temp gets up to target... but he mentioned the warm down process.. which I assume is after stopping. is there anything to note before turning it off?

Just after a session on track, a lap or two in a high gear (low revs) maintaining half-speed and minimal braking to keep a good amount of air flowing through the coolers and brake ducts before I bring it back into the pits. Nothing more than that.

Also worth adding that I am at 117k miles now and still on original TAs and clutch. We'll see how long the TAs last for... The long lasting clutch is just a testament to driving a manual properly, I got lucky with the previous owners

It’s a street car with 295lb-ft of torque beginning at 3500 rpm or so, and a twin disc clutch with a dual mass flywheel...try not to pat yourselves on the back too hard, bmw sold diesel crapbozes that were harder on clutches than these

Seriously almost spit my drink all over my computer when I read this lmao I know it's no major feat to have a long lasting clutch in a BMW. I know of one friend's car with close to 200k on the original clutch. I guess I just feel bad when I hear about people having issues with the clutch in a used M3 because of previous owners' abuse. I do consider myself a little fortunate considering I am the 4th owner and none of the previous strangers were reckless with their clutch use |

I am looking at an 08 E92 that has 113000 miles for $16500. According to KBB it is a good deal. Just waiting on word back about maintenance records. If everything checks out and the normal components have been addressed, would any of you have any hesitations with buying it?
Thanks

I would do a complete engine check to include RB and TA. Price sounds great if engine is good and frame has not been damaged

I scooped up a 2009 e90 with 95K miles for 22.4K for reference, but still need RBs soon. |

Original everything except: Both TA replaced fuel breather valve replaced Alternator replaced Battery replaced Spark plugs replaced There's some fuel sensor in the bottom rear left that I replaced but forgot what it's called (I overfilled and some sensor in that area broke) And currently my oil is reading MAX but I have a leak so the sensor for that is probably broken too |

Add alternator to the list of things I needed to replace (not surprising or a big deal, the original one lasted 118k miles). Also, one other thing - the gaskets that are above the primary cats, right where the exhaust connects to the headers... those things were shot and causing an exhaust leak that one of my O2 sensors did not like. It wouldn't be a bad idea to replace them if you have a higher mileage 08, the gaskets were cheap and swapping them out took about 30 mins. #3 in the RealOEM pic. There is also a pic of an old one I pulled out next to the new one that replaced it.

Put in the last 7 of your VIN (or select from the drop down menus) and you can find all of the parts/part numbers for your car |

104,000 miles now and counting. Original TA's,RB's and Clutch, plan on keeping her for the long haul and picking up a 991.2 Base when they come down in price in a few years!

I am now at 143,000 miles on my ‘08 e92. Original bearings!!
I regularly change plugs every 40,000 and oil every 6,000 with LiquiMoly 10w-60. I’m one of those people who lets the oil warm up before I bring it above 4500 rpm. One TA at 91k. Other still factory. I have brake, manual transmission and brake fluid changed every spring...it’s cheap enough for having fresh fluid. Daily driver but no track time. |
