ESS V1-535
Thinking of taking the plunge in the near future. You guys Know a reputable dealer/installer in the new york/long island area?
ps. Is the intercooled versions (VT2-575/600) worth the extra money in your opinion? |

at least start with a 575 kit then if you decide to upgrade its as easy as injectors, pulley and tune since you are already intercooled ! Good Luck ! |

Hey Michael,
We are the east coast installer for ESS and have done several VT1 and VT2 installs. Let me know if you have any questions http://www.esstuning.com/pages/Dealers.html |

what is the price difference for upgrading from the 535-575 kit? is it cheaper to just buy the 575 kit out right or to buy the 535 then upgrade? the price of the 575 is quite a bit more than the 535

I was thinking on buying the VT2 625 kit but was told that since my car has a DCT, I better go with the 575 kit due to safety issues since the 575 kit operates within the proper range of the DTC transmission, is this a true statement? Being this the case I am going for the 575 kit

It would cost a little less to buy the VT2-575 than to upgrade to a VT2-575 from a VT1-535. |

[QUOTE=edu09;9960833]Any DCT software update past December 2010 is good. Check with your dealer and if they tell you you have the most recent DCT software version you are all set.

I was pretty much set on the vt1-535 kit but now im not so sure. Is the 535 kit even worth gettting? And is it a huge difference in power between the 535-575 kit. This is a lot of money to be spending and i want to be absolutely positive that im not going to regret sticking with the 535, but by what everyone has been saying i feel like ill be disappointed

The clients I've advised to go the VT1 route have been incredibly happy and remain incredibly happy years after, as the kit is a good fit for their needs. The same goes for my VT2 clients. I'd suggest spending some time on the phone with your preferred vendor discussing the characteristics and personality of each kit prior to purchase. If the person you're talking to is doing their job you will be able to easily make a choice that will keep you happy for years to come.

i agree with what Ilia said above... personally i thought 535 was gonna be good for me but i've decided to upgrade later this year. Just stick with what you are comfy with.

If you do get a VT1, it is always a very simple process to upgrade to the VT2. It does not set you back much extra either doing it in stages.
I personally like the VT1-535 a lot and find that it is a great value that really brings the M3 to life and makes it what it should have been from the factory. If you want extreme, gut-wrenching performance, then the VT2 is the way to go. |

[QUOTE=Roman@ESS;9968302]According to my service advisor my car has the most updated DCT software, if I buy either the 625 or the 575 kit from IND it will be the same price as if I buy it directly from ESS, correct?

If its even a question, then get the 575 kit. You will not regret it!

I'm pretty sure the 535 provides the best HP/dollar value.
