Thanks for all the responses. I am pure road. I keep up about 10k miles a year and have raced a few seasons. Been training since the late 80's. current bike is a Time WorldStar Ulteam VXSR w/Campy Super Record 11 speed. I actually put more miles on my bike then on the M3. I ride/live in Santa Barbara Area so if any roadies wanna join let me know... And all cyclists should check out Strava.

try to do 10k km' a year..but work and family get in the way.

Right now-it's a cross bike for the wintery mix of weather we have.
Had a Trek Madone, but gave it to my brother...now in the market for a new bike.

Great bike. And your signature pic of your car is awesome.

Roadie here. Glad the weather is finally starting to warm up!

STP in one day.......for real?

I would try it, but there better be a rescue vehicle close by.

Road. Picked up a Scott CR1 last month, have had a few chances to ride it when the snow melts. Did 50 miles today, lots of hotties out riding. I love Boulder

Laziness may have been the wrong word, and I agree that road rides can be really tough. But on a road bike, you seldom have to worry about obstacles, or traction, or keeping momentum over a series of rocks while climbing, or climbs that aren't graded for vehicle traffic etc.

On the trails, there's stuff that's anaerobic simply because it takes a trip into the red zone just to get up the climb. And while doing that, you have to choose your path around the chunks of limestone, gravel, and manage traction. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to pay that much attention.

Cheers

Yeah, totally agree. Very different riding. I understand your comment. Road bike you just get on and go. Mtb pedaling is only part of it.

Road for me. Picked up a 2012 Specialized Sirrus Elite last year from Craigslist. Haven't been able to ride much though. Later on I would like to pick up a Dual Sport from Trek for a little bit of mountain biking.
