I thought you have to join a driving course and the you get the speed to 280km/h. This fun cost's you 2.400,-€ You can't use a module like at the old M3 which was legal and German TÜV added the new speed in the papers. Can you let me know how the dealer know's to get 310km/h and still all guarantees??? regards Martin |

The delimiting will only be done after (or while) the first oil change at 2000km, not before... Package also includes a driving course, but it's not mandatory to join... Best regards, south |

hmm, interesting discussion here....i may consider keeping afterall if some of this is true. I only intended to delete because I think it isn't very attractive and would rather put something else on there myself.

You should consider this. I hear it generates significant downforce--you can drive upside down. The good news is that it can be had for $275. I'm sure you can find a way to mount it on the E92.

Those pieces beat my imagination by several degrees of magnitude. And I thought I was a creative person...
Yes, I like the subdued design as well, and it seems like it effectively traps all the air it can in its compression chamber at high speed, too. One just needs to add a fuel injector and a single charge igniter, and you have a ram jet engine in your hands--I mean, on your trunk. Form follows function; simply brilliant. |

Keeping.
On a side note. I wonder if anyone knows how they institute or implement the limiter and test its accuracy. My US Spec 06 330i hit 159 mph easily, then I ran out of road. It was supposedly limited...has anyone else found the limiter to be "broken"?

Keeping. Honestly I'm not planning to keep it because of some aero benefit; I jsut think the rear quarter of the E92 looks too soft (almost looks like a Civic) without it.
If the spoiler actually hurt performance, that would be a tougher decision. |

Limiter
159 indicated was probably under 155; German speedos tend to read a little high because they are not allowed to read low at all per TUV. That being said, I have seen tests where actual speeds in excess of 155 were achieved on some cars.

I hope the M boys are aware of these sic looking spoilers. Either one of these would be a great addition (though I admit I am partial to the first one with expected Ring times with this baby bolted on to be in the mid sevens) for the upcoming CSL, not only for the aesthetic appeal but also the performance enhancing features. Only downside is it would be a bird killer and could easily take out a small plane. BMW are you listening?

I'll keep it, it's like the Gourney on my Porsche Gt3, it pulls down the back at high speeds.
