This is my second time here. Dealer blew a module in my car when working on my battery cable recall and had to reset my computer. So I lost my GTS DCT tune and coding. It is crazy how sluggish the DCT feels having lost the tune. If you are running on a non tuned DCT I suggest you get it done immediately. Already spoke to Alex (Alex@alpine) and will schedule to reinstall. Thank you Alex, I will be contacting you shortly.

Anyone know if there's differences in cooling between the regular and GTS cars? I'm guessing that's preventing us from running GTS timing?

Read the DCT thread on the GTS.

Alex just completed all my coding including the DCT tune and I gotta say this is how this car should have come from the factory. When slowing to lights it doesn’t bog or nudge at all. Shifts are so crisp. On redline it pulls like a bat out of hell, the throttle blip feels faster into just keeping the pedal down. My install was a pain as my computer was pretty old so that was my bad. Alex was top notch, very understanding. Can’t say enough how this tune feels. The car just feels so smooth now. If you don’t have it, it’s the best mod you can do for the price. Thanks Alex!!

"DCT GTS" brings it up as the #1 hit.

It's in the "Engine, exhaust, transmission, drivetrain, ECU software mod..." forum.
There are many threads on the GTS tune, this is one of them below. The GTS DCT tune is a must have. The car shifts so quickly when shifting at high RPM's that it feels like someone is sitting in the back seat and pushing you forward each time you shift. Add an ECU tune and it's even more pronounced. Some simple bolt ons like cold air Intake, pulleys and exhaust and it makes the car in stock form feel sluggish. Alex@alpine and his tunes are well known in these forums.

Found the info I needed. I thought I had read up on this months ago...

I already have Alex's DCT tune. Just wondering how it would be possible to safely achieve the GTS speeds with the DCT. If the GTS does have a secondary cooler, then it seems that even the do88 DCT cooler wouldn't be beefy enough

Just got CIC coding done after retrofitting it into my 08 M3 with CCC. Aside from getting everything up and running, Alex tidied up some cables and updated my engine software. Car feels and sounds smoother. Also noticed a slight increase in MPGs. Definitely going back for a tune.

Just put in a order for the ECU tune, can't wait! I will definitely post some feedback once I run it for a couple days.

I only recently started looking into DCT tunes. I read good things about Alex, I reached out to him at 11PM on Saturday night. Alex replies within 5 min of my inquiry. I told him he can reply me on the next business day with my following questions, he still replies. I ended up buying DCT tune + ECU tune from him tonight. This man is simply amazing. I am a business owner myself and I used to reply my customers at midnight if I were to be up and working. I can see that this man is a hardworking man with a big heart for his customers and his products!

I will report back once I have the tunes installed!! Very excited!! He's having his BF sale so take advantage of the sale!

Re: the DCT tune, does it change the logic in all drive modes? Does it affect throttle response? I often use D2 or D3 when I’m commuting. The car will shift into 7th gear around 30-35 mph and then becomes very sluggish to downshift even if the engine is lugging along at barely 1000 rpm.

is the burble option included in the ECU tune? Also, will I hear the burble with just the OEM exhaust mod? Thanks in advance!

All the options including burbles is included with the tune. You can also select as many different maps you like free of charge. You can for example have a map with burbles and one without.

You'll be able to hear it, but it will be minimal unless you remove the cats.

Just had alex’s Stage 2 ecu tune software and now I personally know exactly what everyone is talking about !!
Car idles super smooth and behaves a hell of a lot different under full throttle now !! This and cat delete is the best mod I’ve experienced hands down. Highly recommend it !! And his price is on point 🙌🏽

What type of HP/tq numbers are we looking at here. Want to do the combo dct/ecu.

Would love to pay in bitcoin too.. (my wife has no idea how it works and makes for great go fast goody fund.)

Alex, is the burble feature new?

I know I got the more recent update from you but I don't recall this being an option.

It's an option to the tune, not an actual update.

Got my tunes today - GTS DCT and ECU tunes.
Alex helped me to get everything set up. He is really accommodating to all sorts of questions.
That said, the tunes....
Oh my god - DCT feels amazing, much faster. much smoother. I can't say enough, this is a tune to get for all E90/92 M owners.
As for the ECU tune, I can definitely feel more power under 3K RPM. I've been craving for something new, I love the power gain that Alex's tune brings to my M3. Alex says the car will get more powerful as it gets used to my driving habits. I will report back. So far, I love it.
