Answer to Question 1: Yes, in my opinion he would.

Answer to Question 2: Forum opinions vary from: When it's parked over night, use the Battery Tender to maximize potential AGM battery life to, use the tender at least once a week over night and/or until the green light becomes steady. Any tender use interval in between the two ends of the spectrum already described can also work. Search the many existing battery tender threads. It all seems to depend on A) How old your battery is B) How hard its daily duty cycle and C) Output of your alternator.

Im having the same issue as well, 3 weeks on GTS tune but I dont think thats the culprit as many have ruled that out. I got a Transmission temp warning though so a number of techs think its a faulty Temp Sensor.

Hopefully you'll have more input on this.

You need to scan the DCT ECU and DME for codes. Try the Carly AP with their bluetooth, OBDII, wi-fi connector. There are so many different things that might be causing the issue that without codes being read the problem may be difficult to diagnose. Throttle position sensor, DCT ECU, Alternator Output voltage, mismatched software between engine and tranny all come to mind. If you can't or don't want to read the codes yourself then find a good local independent shop with a code reader.

I'm interested but also curious about this product. Doesn't ELM327 scanner and a phone app do the same thing?

Yes it does, using Carly myself. One thing may be that at least Carly doesn't provide momentary data but update with whatever frequency. For what its worth you can also see voltage before and after the monitor device and alternator current. The latter I found useful now and then.

I have scanned it already with the Schwaben tool I purchased off ECS Tuning. All the codes are on the original post on the first page.

I am no expert at all with DME/ECU software, but perhaps there could be a mismatch between the DME Operating System Version with either the DCT Tune flash file or the ECU Tune flash files or both. All the codes on the first page mention engine control unit errors. I am not sure what the latest DME Software version is for the E90 series M3s. Anybody? 240E?? What version of the DME are you running?

Both. If it stops happening then you'll know it was one of them.

Just FYI to other folks, I had Alex flash the GTS tune, but I dont have an engine tune (did not install the alpine one yet). Based on this thread, it may be that the stock DME version and the GTS tune is not a compatible version? Can someone confirm?
