A dry sump doesn’t add hp directly but rather helps free up parasitic hp. Probably in combination with cams, pulley, cf ds, larger throttle bodies, 100 oct, aggresive tuning, etc., 500whp doesn’t seem so far fetched.

Dinan quotes crank hp. 500 crank hp is nothing to write home about
They also quote good things for their 4.6L strokers, but then when those engines are dyno'd against other options make the least power -- see the stroker shootout done years ago. Has everyone forgotten about that already? Dinan hopefully builds good engines but doesn't have the first clue of how to tune them.

I am no Dinan apologist, but one of the two companies was hired by BMW M Motorsport to design and build the P65, the race version of the S65. And it was not Troy. I would say that the correct statement is 'no stroker engine lasts that long'. And it's pretty true. It isn't somehow isolated to Dinan. Unlike most, Dinan warranties all their engines for 2 years/24k miles unless it is used in competition. DEs are covered.

Not if it was Lucky Charms - that Leprechaun is shady as fck... And that's the problem with strokers - for what they cost they sure seem to be a big mixed bag of reliability - and power gains. I eventually wanted to go the stroker route when I retired my race car from competition - but I have changed those plans. And glad the 292s look like they have the potential to hold me over until then as well.

One day I’ll post a full build thread when I finish the project, but for those in Miami area they are familiar with the car. DINAN 4.6, did 292 install sourced from Steve with engine in car, and base tune from EPIC. Very satisfied with results thus far. Car is very quick for all motor setup. A few more gains to be had as currently on pump 93.

I am in advanced discussions with Schrick AVL on a group buy for 292 camshaft with valve springs and titanium upper retainers.
They will make a special manufacturing batch for us. I have a quotation on hand and just working out final terms with them. They are very intrigued and willing to support us factory direct. Your jaws will drop at discount in this connect. We're getting attention from mega companies and I'm loving it 🙏 |

Would love to see some more 292 results if anyone has them. Also curious what tuners folks are using and if they have any packaged 292 tunes or if dyno tuning is required?

Lol people still going on with 292 cams in a 4.0. It's a waste lol. Funny how some people who have no clue about engines or tuning were bashing companies like Dinan. Then once their backyard stroker build blew up they realized all the sudden Steve Dinan is a 'genius.' When people like Steve Dinan and Randy from Epic say cams are a waste it's probably safe to say the average forum dweller has no clue what they're talking about, as usual
