Please note that BMW changed the belt configuration from a single-sided power steering and AC belt to a double-sided belt for M3's that were produced after May 2008. Please check with your dealer to find the correct Dinan part number below.

D560-0003 for 2008-5/08 production date with single-sided power steering & AC belt

D560-0004 for 6/08-2009 production date with double-sided power steering & AC belt
Interesting... wonder why the change? Do other pulley kits account for this change?

Wow, they actually came out with a product. I heard it was "supposed" to happen months ago, but thought it was just one of those rumor things.

The price is in the same range as others (I was expecting a lot more given the name) and the gains are similar. And there's the warranty (not a huge issue with this type of product, but if you're a worrier it probably gets you off the fence).

Hey Guys:

Mine will ship this month and be installed in a couple of weeks. I'm actually getting the first one produced, based on placing my order 2 months ago. This is the most aggressive pullley kit in the market, even though Dinan claims 11hp, versus others claiming 21hp. We all know that this is simple math. Unlike an ECU tune, where others claim 20-30hp gains and nobody really knows, this is purely mechanical, and a greater reduction %, will produce more HP, period.

I'll post the results after install.

We should be doing a dyno before and after the install on CPIGUY's car. Well be sure to post up the results.

It is not the most aggressive pulley kit on the market. It is a 16% reduction, just like most of the UDPs on the market right now.

AA is 495; Rogue is 385.;Turner 399; Evosport 395. The Dinan @439 is pretty much in the same range--okay, 10% more. But that 10% premium compared to most brings the Dinan warranty. And for for some folks that provides piece of mind.

Is it worth the extra? Depends on who you are I guess and how much you worry I suppose.

^ Also, I thought I'd mention that if you talk with Omar@AA, he'll definitely give you a price that is competitive with the others. He did with me.

Interesting that you'd say I'm posting mis-information. Out of curiousity, where did you get your info from?

You vaguely posted that the Dinan is the "most aggressive pullley kit in the market." I'm very tired of this type of subjective hyperbole here on m3post when it comes to performance mods, which doesn't really tell us anything. Your son's post regarding the actual reduction numbers is exactly the type of information that allows for a more objective evaluation and comparison with other products and I appreciate him posting it here. I got my info from calling Dinan many months back, but either I was misinformed or the specs have changed since then. In any event, I'm glad this finally made it to market. I feel like I've been waiting forever for it.

I was told it was going to be 16% a few months back by there head sales guy. And I assume Dinan is one the most aggressive one out since most are 15% or lower..

I have a question about the warranty that comes with this UD pulley? Does it just cover the pulley, or does it cover any negative side effects that may affect your engine from the pulley.

What negative aspects are you anticipating?

Dinan matches your new car warranty. If something breaks due to its modifications, they will cover it. This has been their 'unique' business strategy.

Yes, but only if you install at an authorized dealer if I remember correctly.

They list 2.5 hr labor so it will be another $250-300 on top, if you want the warranty. Not saying this is a bad thing, just musing.

Not all the time.
I recently had to replace Dinan muffler and Dinan knew that I didn't install from the authorized dealer. But they recommended to take in to local BMW/Dinan dealer for warranty process and they picked up wrong exhaust from local performance shop for me as well.

It's kinda nice that they covered all parts/shipping/installation labor cost.
