How long did you have your M3?

Been on the board for a few years, quite a few faces are the same, quite a few new, makes a nice mix. Got me curious, for how long does people stay with their E9x M's?

Bought mine in Dec'13 so coming closer to 6 years. Daily the car, done roughly 32k miles since I got it. Was originally planning to keep the car for the usual couple of years. Probably keep her for another year or two...

You?

Bought used in Dec 2012. Drove for 120,000km so far. Plan on keeping for another ten+ years.

Bought new in 2011, no immediate plans to sell, 32k miles on it. The only car that's caught my eye that I'd consider leaving it for is the AMG GT R, but even then I have a tough time justifying the jump from the well-rounded performance, utility, comfort, and sound of the E92.

Only 1.5 years so far, but I expect at least 5 more. The F80s and other new stuff doesn’t really interest me. So, until I can afford a beater and a nice 911... Haha! But I don’t care about the latest and greatest, this one has all that I want/need so I’d rather tart it up than move on. I had my E46 for 6 years, longest I’ve owned a car and I only sold it because I wanted more doors for a growing family.

Ordered and took delivery Oct 3, 2010 so coming up on nine years with just under over 80k miles. No immediate plans to change at this point but you never know when you get the itch for something new!

Noticed your plate in the ZCP thread, with a nice one like that you better stay for a while with the car Jay...

Ps. Bloody stunning looking too!

Picked mine up used in April '17. Got it with 19k miles and still under 30k. I'll keep this car for a long time as I hardly put any miles on it and they won't make another car like this one again. I'd like to pick up a E46 M3 someday as a project car.

Two years, very unlikely I will make it to three. Depends if the rumors about the G80 being out next summer are true, in which case that's a strong contender. Otherwise I will probably end up in an F80, late model comp pack or CS. If there was an M2C 'GC' version with 4 doors I would of bought that already.

Bought my first E90 used in ‘13, kept it for 5 years, sold it, bought a 911 C2S, sold it a few months later and bought another E90. This one is staying with me until it falls apart.

I've owned 3 E9X ///M3's between late 2007 and late 2013: an '08 IB M3 sedan, a '10 JB M3 coupe and a '11.5 ZCP AW M3 coupe. My ZCP was my favorite of the three.

Hoping the 911 will be a nice move. Still waiting for the day I'm grown up and wealthy, so far neither happened...

Leading the pack! It's nice to change car but kinda special when they are kept and looked after for the long run. 10k km is not much so assume a nice weekend motor.

I had my e92 for about 3 1/2 years before I sold and I've had my e90 for about 3 1/2 years now as well, no plans to get rid of it, just track it.

Purchased - in November 2013 with 10,900 miles on it.

I daily it during May - September - now have just a tad over 40,000 miles on it.

Will likely keep forever, to great a car to give up. I would like a pre-owned M5 once they come down in price, likely 4 years from now.

Cheers,

Merlin

Bought new Sept 2012, so already at 7 years. Daily drive it, and take it on BMW CCA Ofest trips so it's been all the way to Laguna Seca and New Jersey for events. 70K (s)miles. just finished a full coolant system overhaul so ready for another 7 years. Other things peek my interest and may get added to the stable but no plans to sell E92 M3 soon.

Bought used in Oct 2010 with 7,800 miles on it. Brought a US car up to Canada.

Daily driven from 2011 to winter of 2014. Bought a brand new 2015 Mini Cooper S for the wife so I wintered using the 2007 Odyssey until the spring. Then I bought a 2012 Mercedes E63 AMG Wagon as the family daily driver. The M3 assumed track and weekend duty. In 2018, traded in the AMG for an X5M and still have the 2009 E92 M3. Currently at around 135,000km.

The car is great!! Weekends only! Just replace the throttle actuators from Abdul!! Tempted to pick up 911- can't justify $150,000

I picked up my car November 2012 with 18k miles
Now has 22,700

Too many cars and life is too busy but I love it and will keep it. I still have my 99 beetle as well and that's not going anywhere either. I tend to keep them a longtime.
