Pic Request: Show off your M Performance steering wheel

Google images just offers up boring pictures of the wheel itself.

(Extra points for the blue stripe DCT wheel on Space Gray.)

We have very different definitions of the word "all".

Thanks for the pic. How is the alcantara holding up?

O_O. I knew people had them on here but this is moving fast.

How about some reviews. Do you guys miss the leather?

What about the wheel trim piece, does anyone know if they make that in alcantara to complete the setup?

Dont miss the leather at all. Ive had it over 2 years now and it still looks new but always make sure my hands are clean. Also rest my hands on the spokes on longer trips. I know they make the trim piece in alcantara but I think it might be too much.

I admit, I personally like the leather more. I feel it matches the car better. Plus the leather is probably 1/8th to 1/16th" thicker than this wheel and in my opinion, leather grips better.

That said, I do love the shape of the performance wheel. And it IS comfy. But I keep hearing people say it grips better. I dont agree with that at all. Maybe with leather gloves, but for DD, Im not putting gloves on.

I dont care for the steering wheel matching center piece. I feel its too much.
In fact, without the performance seats, shift boot and matching roof liner, I personally think the wheel looks funny all by itself.

I plan to rock it until I notice the SLIGHTEST wear then sell it or get it covered in leather. Ideally, I would have just liked this wheel in leather.

I got mine for xmas for like 660 I think. Would I do it again? No.

Matching the center trim piece would be janky and devoid of function. I think I want the oem leather wheel in this shape with the stripe. Otherwise I don't think I like the material, the look of it or the way it will wear over time. I'm out.

The IND pics

I like the look and feel of alcantara. As noted above, the lack of matching material is weird but I'm not sure it's enough to keep me away. OEM+ means all the parts!

Keep the pics (and reviews) coming. We don't have enough feedback on this mod.

Electric wheel = christmas tree. It'd be so annoying to use.

Because F1 car. I can't imagine having the need for shift lights on a daily basis. Edward?

I bought my car with speed cloth and replaced the seats with leather pole positions. I plan on doing the cloth on the doors, rear panels, headliner and pillars in alcantara to match the wheel.

I think the shift lights on the tach are fine. I don't like how the lights on the steering wheel progress in a mirror image of each other up both sides of the wheel. I'd rather have a single shift light plastered dead center above my tach and speedo in a straight left to right line.

Maybe if I had a manual I wouldn't mind the shift light overkill.

This wheel looks awesome in that IND car because it matches a bunch of the other surfaces. Even speed cloth would make it look better like it did in the E46 ZCP with this wheel.

2012 E92 DCT black interior with OEM alcantara (round). The alcantara is more grey than black (anthracite?). I just purchased the performance wheel (blue stripe, flat bottom) and the alcantara is black - anyone else notice the difference in color of the alcantara?

Are you saying that the alcantara on the M Performance wheel is black?

In these pictures, it looks more gray.

The alcantara pictured in post #4 definitely looks gray (looks like my existing wheel) while the alcantara in the first two pics in post #14 looks black (looks like the blue stripe, flat bottom wheel I just purchased).
