PremiumShield Elite vs. XPel clear bra

Anyone have hands on experience with either of these two clear bra options?

I've not heard of PremiumShield? I have SunTek on my X5, nothing on my M3.

All of the best names in PFF will offer great protection - I'd actually be more careful about who's installing it, warranty, etc.

Check out this article, compares all the big name films - as you will read they're all very good, all have self healing qualities...

opinions/experiences here will be like any on the internet. read up.

I have xpel and love it. its been on our daily driven yukon (full front end) for 5 years with no issues. As Jiggz mentioned, installer is critical.

Garage List
I have expel on the Jeep and have zero complaints, though, I've only had it for 3-4 months. As mentioned earlier, installation is most important.

Park Place Auto Salon in Bellevue. Taylor is the Manager, they did full front, rockers, and 1/4 panels on my M3 and X5. Terrific install. You can’t even see it.

Just got off the phone with them. They are going to be giving me a call later today to verify the quote. Initially they said anywhere from $150-$450 for just the front bumper at this time.

i'm curious to know which product works best on Alpine White?

I have the 3M product and while it does the trick in terms of protection against road debris; it yellows like you can't imagine...the discoloration was apparent after 2-3 years after installation.

Car has always been garage-kept. Contacted 3M and low and behold, discoloration was not covered under warranty.

Interested in recommendations.

We may be a little biased, but XPEL is the way to go. XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS is the most durable and glossiest film on the market. As others have mentioned in the thread, a lot of it comes down to installer skill. Be sure you find an installer you trust. If you can, narrow your search down to at least 2 shops and go to their location in person. This will let you gauge their workmanship, and their customer support quality.

Check out our XPEL Certified Installer Locator to find a list of installers nearest you.

If you haven't seen it, check out our video for ULTIMATE PLUS to see the rigorous tests we put our film through.

XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS Video

XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS is backed by a 10 year warranty that covers staining, yellowing, lifting, bubbling, peeling, cracking, and more.

Not all films are created equal. We hope that you give XPEL a chance next time you have clear bra installed as our film is backed by a 10 year warranty that covers yellowing and staining. Parts and labor.

Our PPF guys use Premium shield. We tested suntek + Xpel + premium shield, same panel, same installers, with the correct application methods and found premium shield had the best gloss for a top layer as well as the least amount of orange peel. Also was the most difficult to scratch. When it finally scratched (pretty much at the point of vandalism) it was easily corrected with heat or even slight scratches corrected by the heat generated by wiping with a microfiber.

We have now done 15 cars with premium shield (last 2 months) and haven't looked back.

When shopping for an installer, make sure they have done your exact car. Each car has its own quirks and special installation needs.
