220M Wheels. Powder Coat or Paint?

I've decided to stay with my OEM 220M wheels for now and get them redone at least until I move out of here and get settled again. I'm debating on whether or not I should powder coat them or paint them. I know powder coating holds up longer and is tougher but even in gloss, it doesn't quite have that look that paint does on wheels. Can anyone weight in from experience?

I redid my wheels with black powder coat with high gloss and they came out great. Powder coasting was recommended by the dealer as they last longer than repainting. I can send you some pics if you'd like.

The powder coat with the blue calipers really make them pop as you can see.

Not sure what you mean about powdercoat not having the same look that paint does. Anyway, powdercoat is more resilient than paint, so my vote is for that. I actually singed the painted finish on my car's wheels at the track (hot brake calipers). My new wheels are powdercoated and there is zero discoloration now.

I would not do the 220M wheels in black or anything like that. They are a busier wheel design that looks weird in black. The factory finish is actually quite nice. I'd find a good wheel repair place by you to strip them and refinish like they were when new.

This. Don't paint or powdercoat 220s, they never looks as good as they do stock. But if you must, I vote powdercoat.
