Baller!

I can pretty much guess what the post-breakin M-DCT review will be like.

I will do an “in-depth” review once I do my 1200 service, which might be a while. It only took me 7 months to do the 1200 mile service on the E92. But, so far I really like the fact that I have way more choices in setup than I do with my 6MT, because I don’t have the “M” drive on that one. I also like how the Throttle Blimps even in “D” mode.

Question about DCT.

When you come to full stop while the car is in gear, and you turn off the engine, does the tranny stays in gear?

It goes into PARK.

I asked my CA that exact question and he even demonstrated it.

Here is the best (most technical!) explanation that I have seen:

Thanks for the info!

That explains why it makes a CLUNK noise when you shut off the engine and the Park engages.

The Coupe came with Michelin PS2s and the Sedan came with Pirelli PZEROs. The Michelins seem to be a little stickier.

I'll try that, but the CA told me that I could also leave it in "D" and turn the car off. I don't have to think this much with my 6MT, haha.

Yes, ya learn something new every day! I thought it was cool that both clutches disengage when the engine shuts off.

I still don't see much of a reason to use the hand brake, since the parking pawl is automatically engaged when you shut off the engine.

Right, there seems to be no harm in this. By shutting off the engine, the clutches will disengage. The parking pawl does it's thing, the hand brake is superfluous. Unless you want to be extra cautious on a hill or something.

OMG, I just drove the cars back-to-back, the 6MT first, then the M-DCT, and when I was using the paddles, I clutched, but there was no Clutch Pedal. I’ll be that won’t be the last time!

I definitely can’t shift as fast as the M-DCT, but then again, I’m 55 and can barely get my had on the stick!
