MS pulleys belts
Hi,
can you help me, i have ordered MS pulleys, but they came with 1-sided belts.. so it is not safety to install pump pulley with 1sided belt, it must be 2sided.. How to do it right??? Thanks

There are two configurations. For cars built up to May 2008, the two belts are one sided. For cars built June 2008 and beyond, the belt for the A/C and power steering needs to be two sided.
Maybe you got the wrong kit for your car. |

I don'y have this pulley, but I think I read that the MS pulley comes with a replacement power steering pulley that uses the single sided belt. Check the instructions, you may be rerouting the belt a different way. I'm sure someone with experience will chime in here, if not just give them a call.

^^^ What he said. The picture you have above is for June 2008 and after. I have a March 2008 so I used one sided.

Just FYI - the belts you get at Autozone and the like suck, imo, compared to the Conti ones that come with the kit. The back of the single sided one is too smooth to grip and provide tension for installation of the pulley. The problem is that we cannot get the Conti ones here. What a PITA. Contraray to what is advertised, don't believe you can just waltz into any Autzone and find the replacements on the shelf. They have to get them from another store or special order them in. I picked up a spare pair of the specific Conti ones, but I bought them from a shop in Belgium. That said, I might consider a different pulley system if I was doing it over again, accept that the belt is proprietary, and just buy spares with the pulley kit.

See the thread attached, even Tom at EAS specifies the two belt routings. The pictures I posted come from him . http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=803644 Last edited by CanAutM3; 04-23-2013 at 03:42 PM.. |

i have second one! my steering pulley moves to the left, so under 2008 it have been moved to the right! so if you look to the second picture, which is 2008+ there must be two-sided belt!!!! but it is one-sided! understand what im talking about?

Can someone confirm the Continental belt part numbers for the 2008+ E9x M3 MS pulley kit? I found a post with a photo showing 6 PK 1084 and 6 PK 1432, but I want to make sure these are correct before ordering.

This is correct for 6/08 and later 6MT and all DCT models.

We carry them, they are not listed on the site - any local auto parts store would have them as they are common sizes. PM me if you can't find any locally and I'll get you a set.
