For GTS DCT tune, is it done together with ECU flash tune, same method?

Or is this GTS DCT tune done separately, using different method ?

He does it remotely through your laptop.

Has anyone run the e85 tune for a long time? What are your experience? I am thinking about going e85 but the misfire and limp mode issues in prior posts is making me conflicted.

If I have flash tuned a 91 OCT map into the ecu, and I filled the car with 93 OCT gas, will there be any downsides? Less power or same ? Will it perform worse off than using 91 OCT ? Any potential damage to the car or would it be better for the car instead ?

I know I could switch to 93 OCT map and switch maps on the go, but i may not have access to 93 OCT fuel at the station and have access to a laptop in the car all the time.

Also Alex, do you have a 95 OCT map ? It does not specifically mention on your website:
https://alpinemss.com/products/e9x-m...tune-2007-2013 , as it states "Ignition timing optimized for octane of fuel ( 90, 91, 93, 100 and more)"

You can run higher octane fuel on a lower octane map, no downsides. Just don't run higher octane map with lower octane fuel. Yes, just request 95 octane.

itll get rid of the catless setup smell plus the added horsepower benefit!

You can run our e85 map if you decide you do not want to mix and run e85 and switch back to a regular map when done with e85

This tune is transferable for me to change mapping if I purchased an m3 with this tune? I would like to change the current 91 octane tune to the 93 octane tune.noticible difference between the two maps?

Just curious if there's a special way to have less burbles when full catless? I requested a new map with the burble option to see if I'd like it, as I wanted a few pops off the throttle but it's too excessive with non-stop burbles and it has random backfires when coming to a stop or cruising under 2k and it scares the crap out of me I'm running a Bimmerworld full catless race xpipe paired with a GT2. Is it possible to get reduced burbles?

If your battery on the car is good and car was recently driven you don't need one. Otherwise any charger that's 40amp or higher

I've used Schumacher charger with 30amp settings for years and never had any issues. Just make sure whatever charger you use does not automatically shut-off or reduce AMP output. Schumacher does that, so I usually kick it into 30amp mode right before I do anything with DME and it stays at 30amp.

I've previously owned a 2013 M3 with BPM tune and bought a 2013 ZCP past December (impulse buy - hate it when that happens!). Drove it for 10 months/4k miles on stock tune until I loaded Alpine tune. That's when you realize again these cars really do need a tune. Stock tune is very conservative.. Happy with the purchase, worth every penny.

According to Alex we can run 10 gallons of 91/93 and up to 3 gallons of E85 which gets close to E27 without having a special tune. I have his Stage 2 93 and will test that out soon.

Any chance you can describe the difference?
(burbles per second, or something like that)
Does the RPM they activate at change?

I know it's best to hear each one, just trying to get an idea of the difference before trying each one.

Thanks,

It's different on everyone's setup. Can't really explain.

Installed my stage 1 tune last week from this latest group buy.

I've gone for 3 drives since and noticed a few things:
1. More mid range power. This is similar in change as the increase in throttle response from standard to power setting. Not a crazy change, but definitely worth the cost alone.
2. It runs way smoother. I was definitely in need of the update.

Tonight I installed test pipes along with the stage 2 tune. Servtronics, cold start delete, etc.

Then I got to enjoy a 45 minute backroad drive home. Lots of 2nd, 3rd, 4th shifts.

It. Was. Awesome.

While the cat removal's influence seemed to produce more rasp then I would ever find acceptable, I wasn't worried as it's currently paired with an otherwise stock exhaust. (Corsa is next).

But the performance and increase in volume was night and day.

All those hours reading posts, threads, and opinions- I find the exact same result: "it wakes the car up" and is worth the Alpine tune and effort to remove primary cats.

Alex, thank you for a great product and providing us group buys.
