I just ordered this option I found on a Mini site of all places. Serves the purpose well as I can add the front plate but keeps my bumper pretty clean as the drill holes are well hidden underneath the front intake lip and not out on the front of the bumper! Will let you know how it goes...but even with this bracket I can go front plateless too from the looks of it!
Will let you know...get the car back tomorrow afternoon...just had my Eisenmann Sport exhaust installed at Curry's Auto in Dulles this afternoon!

I like both options but I think I will remain plateless! It seems Montgomery Co police won't give you any issues for it unless you break some others laws.

I've been looking for a motorized version a couple of months back and only saw the one on youtube on a mustang and a corvette (homemade versions). I knew Swift Motorsports had the manual version, but glad to finally see a fairly cheap motorized version. What worries me is that the plate will bend backwards at high speed touching the front bumper. The manual version lookes pretty flimsy, and this just looks like the manual version made automatic. I am really interesed in seeing close up pictures and close up video of the thing.

The manual version is not flimsy as you might expect. Its very simple but built well from a hardware point of view not many points of failure. Now if someone can give me directions on how to pull the front mesh off I can get started on installing this bad beast.

thks for the quality update! but sorry no pointers for me on the DIY, I do remember from my last e46 M3 that the full lower front has to be removed to access the lower mesh. But I hope someone can chime in to lend you a word of advice on your project
