I see, i guess it has to do with breaking in the car huh?

I also noticed that it is harder to cruise in this car, if i let off the gas my speed drops down pretty fast (city driving)...tried going in higher gears but doesnt seem to help.

I think perhaps I need to probably get used to it a bit more but I have a lot of experience with aftermarket clutches with very stiff clutch plates. I think the jerkiness is attributed to partly driver getting used to the clutch, myself babying it a little bit too much, and the clutch doing a good job at grabbing the way it does (which is a good thing for performance). It definitely has some bite to it for a stock clutch.

The car does indeed crank a little longer than my 335i, but it's not nearly as long compared to when I had fuel pump problems. It is possible that this is just the way the car is, I will have to check out some other friends' M3s soon.

All in all, I enjoyed driving the car quite a bit. It made me miss driving a 6MT. Thanks Mantis for coming down and keeping me company while I got my car detailed and thanks for letting me drive!

another random thought or question. if you have iPhone and u want to hook it up to charge, i use the iPod connector. i try to play music off of my iPhone but every minute or so it makes like an explosion sound and mutes for like 10 seconds then continues playing, then does it over and over. did anyone experience that??

any tips with iPhone or threads u know of please link me.... im not gonna hahah

another thing: there's no flash light that looks like the one in 335's. not a chargeable one for sure. but i found a little short pen-looking thing in the compartment that it is the flash light but wasnt sure. can someone confirm? i tried to turn it on but it would, or i didnt know how to wth is that thing?

umm... the leather on the case holding the maintenance booklets is very nice btw

i cant get the sound system to sound just right, im having a hard time. i know this guy did amazing settings with logic7. im gonna try it, i'll let u guys know

Yes, you should have received a little LED flash light that mounts on the left side of the glove box. It says BMW on it, it's a few inches long, and the power button is on the end.

How do you like these EQ settings? I'm trying to figure out what the best EQ settings are as well.... I know it's a personal taste thing, but I'd like to see what other people are doing and go from there.

i keep my car in sport plus all of the time. rev matching is no problem.

why havent you guys tried this? do you thinkk that sport plus is too agressive and will hinder your break in?...It's quite easy to put around in sport plus.

so u set those in the M Settings right? dont you have to have the M button pushed to get that? i want it to run in sport or sport plus by default. how do you do that?

i havent tried any of that coz im waiting for break-in... im half way thru already. i think i'll get over 1k by sunday

the transmission seems to get noisier day by day, and the more harder i drive, the noisier it gets btw. anyone noticed that?

i just tried this on my M enhanced audio system:

80: +5 bars
200: +4 bars
500: +3 bars
1K: +7 bars
2K: +3 bars
5K: +5 bars

Bass: +4 ish

Fader: -5 (to the rear)

it was too much treble so i fixed it to this to my liking:

i am using 'surround' and not 'stereo' btw

i used 'watch dem roll' by sean paul then 'Orion' by metallica to tune in between. i like more bass than treble

+7 treb and 10k 8 bars is way too much "treble" IMO.

When I heard your system with the settings the other day, it was way too bright so I turned the treb down a lot.

Skimming through the thread I heard mention of the transmission being "notchy." At 1000 miles now and it is MUCH less notchy than when I first got the car. It clicks into gear much smoother than it did on delivery day.

btw mantis that's basically what I told you to do last week with the EQ when I said put it into an "upside down bell curve." It gives the best general results with "most" music.

that's good news man. yah like u told me, i think it's great. i'd like to see if others have different settings, i'd wanna try, but i think a "U" shaped setting is what we need
