I've found CarFax to be shady. My GLI that I bought new showed it had an accident listed in 2013 shortly after I bought it that did not happen. Yet I had a truck drop a railroad tie that nearly killed me on the highway on Memorial Day two years ago that wasn't shown on the CarFax.
