F80/F82 sales?
My local dealership has 3 x M3's and 35 x M4's in stock!!!
Does anyone else find that odd? We're E90's/E92's ever that widely available? |

Love my E93. The new M4 makes me yawn with boredom. The motor killed it. BRING BACK THE V8.

I don't find it odd at all. Too much supply and far too little demand. And no, you would never *ever* have found this with E9Xs.

I don't find M3s and M4s sitting on the lot odd but 35 M4s seems excessive. This must be a HUGE dealer to order 35 M4s for general inventory... Was simply trying to confirm that the 35 number was correct!

35 in stock!! wow. How many with CF roofs though?
we have been sold out for a few months. There has been a delay on CF roofs which has pushed a lot of orders back till march production-may delivery. Lots of moonroof options available on lots however.

Somehow I doubt the 35 in stock number.. 1/3 of that sounds reasonable for a big dealer. 35 is huge! And why only 3 sedans?

Hard to believe but a quick search on their website indeed shows 35 M4's in stock!

And by the way BMW did struggle to sell E90 M3. They only sold 66000 worldwide while their initial goal was to sell over 100000 units. Sure, a big part of that had to do with the economic crash in 2008, but still. |

BMW of Dallas has 2 sitting outside now. Classic BMW in Plano had 5 sitting outside last time I was there. Normal practice for a dealership in possession of a hot car in large quantity - they put all of them up front showing that they have them. Normal car buyers like selection so a good dealer conveys this as much as they can. Including putting inbound and in transit inventory online.
Autonation is a conglomerate and they for example will put all their inventory in front of you. So if you are searching for a Nissan @ Nissan Dallas, you'll also be shown inventory from their Irving and Lewisville stores - and it's displayed like it's all at the same location. I would not be surprised if that's similar to what's going on here. |

Are you people ever happy? Every new M3 brings a chorus of hate.
If it isn't too heavy it has the wrong engine. Yet every M3 is faster and more refined.

Agree...the F8x M3/M4 is better than the e9x in every measurable way. I only prefer the e9x because I like high revving NA engines. Probably why I'd add an e46 m3 to the stable down the road too.

People want to read too much into what they see based on their opinions. For most typical M3 buyers, the only real problem with the car may be the sticker price. I saw a new M4 at the dealer the other day and it was tapping the door on $80K...with cloth seats (not even Alcantara, mind you). With prices like that it really makes you step back and think whether it's really worth it.
