has anyone tried making the bolt holes bigger to pull the fender away from the body? VW's do this... fender wont be flush with the door panel anymore but for 315's and no ugly flares...

We used to do that in the old days as well, use a spacer to get a little more width. I will look and see if something like that might work.

Yes - can cover up to a 305 Pirelli DH doing this but that is a pretty narrow 305 though. 315 - especially a hoosier - would be very hard pressed to fit like this. I trimmed the vertical portion over the tire on a set of fenders to clear them.

Can you send me a pic of your fronts with a Hoosier 315?

It will only fit and not rub if you cut your fenders.

I understand that, hoping to see OG Sharks fronts with a hoosier 315 on.

Are you hesitant to cut the fenders?

I don't have any pics with the 315's and those fenders on the car yet. I trimmed it like tsk94 referred to with those pics - but with an aftermarket fender that fits like stock.

Not hesitant, have cut many a fender, but want to avoid flares if I can on this car.

If you have a proper ride height it does not detract from the look at all imo. If you have a higher clearance minimum then it can't start to look a bit wonky if you trim that vertical portion all the way. Can definitely make it work without having to go to flares (and agreed try to avoid that).

I run a 18x10.5 BBS RIA ET23 with Pirelli DH 305/645's and 12mm spacer that i dont even need to run, do so for piece of mind and old habits...... my collars on my MCS are raised above the tire. I will be ordering 315 Hoosier's for my 10.5 wide and shouldnt run into any problems if i run lets say a 8mm Spacer. To add, my camber upfront is -4.1. What are you're camber settings that you are supposedly running issues with?

When I last had the car, it was an Apex 18x11 wheel with a 315 R7. I don't think we needed a spacer up front, and the spring is short (1000# 5") that sits above the top of the tire. Camber was -4.1 and we pulled some caster to assist with sweep ('lock-to-lock').

Raising the ride-height helps some with the clearance up top, but the sweep issue is still there.... and then we would need to drop front aero again. The 'easy button' is cutting the fender. Second stage easy button is flares....and the owner doesn't want that (I don't blame him).

Motorsport24 Wider Fenders

Looks like Motorsport24 finally release and priced their fenders. I'm surprised companies like Flossmann don't just make their fender slightly wider to accommodate 305 easily. M24 is an OEM+ look, I'm obsessed with their parts and eyeing this setup for 2023.

See below. This is $2k + shipping from Motorsport24.

https://www.motorsport24.de/en/m3-e92-chassis/

Regarding the GT4, they use OEM M3 fenders. Most likely trimmed the bumper and fenders to clear wider setup. Reference to the GT4 parts catalog below.

*Correction, looks like Flossman fenders can clear 305/30/18 tires.

I confirmed with a member with Flossmann fenders, that 305/30/18 would clear. So that's a good option.

The ones on the orange car look good - assuming they are wider. Not sure what's going on with the front bumper if they are wider. Different front bumper, or pulled OEM bumper out to match the new wider fenders?
The green car with the bolted on piece on the front bumper, ugly.

yeah the flossmann and flossmann reps are good to clear, they just vented oem size.

but just trimming the inside lip of the fender gives so much extra clearance too with the right spec wheels.

then just rub till it fits

Green car is what they look like before painting. It's wider to accommodate 315 tires. Yes, there's a piece on the bumper to mold in order for the wider fenders to look correctly. it's great for those who like the OEM + look.

Flossmann can clear 305 with trimming the inside lip, no issues so that's probably a better looking and cheaper option.

I highly doubt that the orange and green car are using the same parts, unless they did an incredible job of molding the bolted on bumper flare we see on the green car to the bumper on the orange car. I really doubt it though...

If you told me both cars are using the same fenders, but the orange car is using a different bumper I'd believe that. Or they modified the OEM to fit?
