Interlagos Blue E92 M3 progress
Hey everyone - I’m not one for making new threads here, but one thing that has always frustrated me is searching for specs on a car and not being able to find any information. So, I submit my meager contribution to M3Post!
I had my first E92 M3 (2011 Alpine White ZCP) around 4-5 years ago and put approximately 137k miles on it. The car was originally purchased through Carmax with their extended warranty. I never had any issues with it besides a bad o-ring in the oil filter housing that lead to leaks. For my entire ownership I had the original rod bearings. I’ll admit that at the time I didn’t realize how important getting the rod bearings done was, but I figured I had the warranty so it didn't need worrying about. It’s also worth noting that the original AW M3 was driven on a 2 mile dirt road, followed by a horrible 20 miles pot hole-ridden back country road around 6 days a week. After my first experience I had to get another. Pics of the OG car: So enter the Interlagos Blue M3! Purchased this car with 21k miles on it for a crazy good price and told myself that I wouldn’t do anything besides a GTS lip, wheels, and coilovers. That didn’t last long . The car has been wrenched on by EAS, MRF, and Evasive, all of which I’m happy to say I’ve made friends with good people at each shop. I always liked the contrasting look of AW with CF, but I do like how the CF on blue is a more subtle contrast. Unfortunately keeping Interlagos Blue clean for more than five minutes is next to impossible. Specs: - 2012 Interlagos Blue E92 M3 CF roof - DCT - Stripper (except DCT transmission) - no iDrive, no power seats, no EDC, etc... - Full paint correction and 9H Ceramic Pro - Titan7 TS-5 18” 18x9.5 +22 (5mm spacer) (265/35/18) 18x10.5 +25 (10mm spacer) (285/35/18) - Michelin PS4 - Apex Bullet head stud kit (90mm) - KW DDC coilovers (since the car has no EDC) - AJM GTS lip - Vorsteiner GTS-V diffuser (was told it was an authentic Vorsteiner part when the vehicle was purchased, but will be swapping with a Mode Carbon LM diffuser) - aFe intake filter - Burger Motorsports Cabin intake filters - Macht Schnell Catless x pipe (resonated) - Corsa Sport exhaust w/80mm tips extended/welded so it’s flush with diffuser - Alpine tune - Rod bearings done by MRF (@39k miles) - BMW Performance steering wheel - BMW Performance CF mirror caps - BMW Performance CF spoiler - BMW Performance side vents - BMW Performance grill - BMW factory CF leather trim (car came with brushed aluminum trim and I couldn’t stand how scratchy it was) - AutoTecknic CF paddles - Akebono brake pads - Hanbin Design Alcantara rear seat delete - LED front turn indicator bulbs (similar look to the OEM Stealth Bulbs so there's no yellow/yolk. It drove me crazy how the tail's had LED's and the front didn't) Thanks for looking, and apologies in advance for the differing color balance. ************************************************** ************************************************** ******************** ETA: too many specs to list, so here are photos of the various phases the car has gone through: ETA: current setup specs: - 2012 Interlagos Blue E92 M3 CF roof - DCT - Stripper (except DCT transmission) - no iDrive, no power seats, no EDC, etc... - Full paint correction and Auto Envy Quartz+ ceramic - BBS E88 (Silver) 18X10 +15 18X11 + 35 - 10mm H&R spacer rear - Cup 2's (265/35/18, 295/30/18) - MSI stud kit M12 - KW Clubsport 2-Way (no EDC) - Pom Performance GT4 lip - BMW M235iR wing - Varis CF undertray - Eventuri CF intake - Eventuri CF plenum - Burger Motorsports Cabin intake filters - Akrapovic GT4 x pipe - Akrapovic catback - Alpine Stage 2 tune - Rod bearings done by MRF (@39k miles) - MRF aluminum sub-frame bushings - MFactory Carbon Fiber drive shaft - BMW Performance steering wheel - BMW Performance CF spoiler - BMW Performance side vents - BMW Performance grill - BMW factory CF leather trim - AutoTecknic CF paddles - AutoTecknic CF hood vents - Akebono brake pads (will be picking up AP Essex kit this year) - Fall-Line Motorsports rear seat delete kit - E90 rear center console piece trimmed to fill in the missing console piece, filled in with carbon fiber - PSDesign GTS style armrest - Recaro Profi XL seats - Brey-Krause R-9280/OEM slider seat mounts - Brey-Krause R-2295 variable width extinguisher bracket - Brey-Krause R-9530 extinguisher mount - CSF DCT cooler - CSF oil cooler - CSF power steering cooler - CSF triple-pass radiator - LED front turn indicator bulbs Current: Last edited by Rusty_Schackleford; 10-26-2020 at 11:15 AM.. |

DOPE!!
Love 18’s on the E92. Have an IB with black Apex 18’s similar look but no spacers but will have to get spacers for next spring. |

Thanks man! Your thread is what inspired me to post this one. The GTS is my favorite configuration of the E92 so working towards something that looks even slightly inspired by that is my hope.
I love the Apex's also, spacers round the look of the car out IMO. |

You dove into the deep end of mods for this car... what other mods are next?

You've got the same taste I do. Mine is quite similar with the black wheels, high kick spoiler and carbon fiber mirrors although jet black. Nice ride brother!

Pom Performance GT4 lip installed (after four hours).
I was worried this lip would look a little obnoxious on the car but I actually prefer its profile to the GTS. |

Placed an order for the Hankook R-S4's but apparently the 285 rears were out of stock for the season, so I went with RE-71R instead --
I'm thinking I may need to go a little lower on the KW's now ETA - yes tires were installed backwards, lol Last edited by Rusty_Schackleford; 09-17-2019 at 05:53 PM.. |

**** Spent some (way too much time) time installing the side skirts - Definitely will have to be more careful on placement of the jack from now on when lifting the car. I already clipped the inside edge of the skirt when drilling the self-tapping screws. Totally unnecessary part (but then a lot of the carbon bits are) but I think it rounds off the look of the car a ton. |
