How come only DCT got those shift lights

Has anyone tried to replicate or make it work for 6MT? I'm jealous, just because of how cool it looks

It's cause we paid $2900.00 for them Just kidding. If you want shift lights buy a performance steering wheel.

Now that I think of it, I remember reading US-bound GTOs had the shift-light disabled on 6MT cars due to a US law. Guess to discourage racing, but why just on 6MTs:? Probably before automatic transmissions had manual control.
I don't particularly care for the shift light, but remember many GTO owners (I used to own an '06) sent their clusters to get reprogrammed by a tuner and it worked, as everything was already in place. You might ask some tuners to see if that's the case with the M3. Good luck man.

I know that the cluster circuit board of both the DCT and 6MT cars has spots for LEDs for shift lights...

I was planning to, and I will..but I was just wondering why they would have it on the DCT but not the Manual

You can get a simple ODBII device to give you shift lights. But honestly just go by sound/feel.

No, it just has tinned holes on the board.
