I know this is a common issue on the e9x. Just wondering how my gap compares to others. I don't want to fiddle around with it if its not going to get much better.

Sorry for the horribly focused pictures. Having iPhone camera issues.

Looks normal to me. I agree that fiddling with it might make things worse or uneven.

Funny you would say that I noticed that on my car presumed, there was damage at the front end from the prior owner. Why does that gap happen ?

Are you saying you thought my front end looked like it was damaged? But there a lot of discussion on crappy body panel alignment by BMW. Its a shame but true. Maybe thats why they went with the redesigned hood on the f-series. :

New owner as well with a 11 e90 AW M3, the hood to bumper cover gap was the first thing that caught my eye as my last 328 wasn't quite like this but guess its common...Im guessing you probably played with the catch pieces on the hood to bring it down..

No i didn't mess around with them. Just the bumper stops a little , but if everyone is saying it does not look abnormal, I won't play with it. Just asking to screw something else up.

With my head turned to the side with one eye open.

But for serious, when I first started looking at E90s to purchase I was convinced that every M3 I was looking at had been in some front/side collision. For BMW to make one hell of a complete package of an automobile, I find it humorous that they arrived at showroom floors with misaligned panels and orange peel paint.

I'll still take it over my other options

Looks fine, but it is easily adjustable. There are a few screws under the hood on top of the kidneys.

Yes, but AFAIK, that just adjusts the forward and backward placement right?

The gap looks good....the two hooks on the hood itself can be turned in an equal amount to bring it down tighter but the hood will get harder to close.
