Anyone uses chains on M3?
It seems chains are not recommended for M3, but I wonder if anyone uses any alternative (snow socks) and\or have any suggestions.
I don't drive in deep snow, but I do go hiking and I would love to at least manage to drive on cleared roads with layer of packed snow\ice. This Tuesday, I tried to go to Snow lake trailhead, but it wasn't doable as the road was icy and I have all season tires on 19" wheels. I-90 is usually pretty clear so having a little extra traction for some of the exits would get me by...I think.

Perhaps studded tires would suffice?
Chains probably don’t have enough clearance in the wheel wells. Winter driving in Toronto is not so dramatic! If there’s that much snow, I take the SUV. I see more exotic cars being driven year round because the winters have been quite mild. |

I'd for a good winter tire or studs in the rear.
