Overreving with DCT
I accidentally overrevved in 1st gear close to 9000 rpm. I didn't think this was possible with DCT. I'm glad I didn't have problems afterwards!

This information is absolutely incorrect. It will bounce off the rev limiter until you shift it when in manual mode (unless you're in a launch-control run where it will shift for you until you let off the gas during that run).

The Max I've ever seen hit on a DCT car with stock software is 8,550. Hard limit cuts for fuel and ignition are well below 9,000 - you shouldn't be able to go near there no matter what.

I have DCT and have never driven in the "D" mode... Only my girlfriend does.

The ecu cuts fuel immediately at redline. With no fuel, the revs can't go any higher. Also, with DCT, the transmission will not downshift into a gear that would put you over the rev limit. So with DCT it is essentially impossible to get over the rev limit.

Why? Why would you feel the need to post something that is completely wrong? Is this what you really think happens?
