Which exhaust system to pair with Macht Schnell x-pipe?

On my E92 I have the Macht Schnell Race X-pipe installed, which removed both the primary and secondary cats. I have been running this setup with the OEM muffler. It sounds great but at low RPMs it is somewhat raspy and drones.

What would be a good axle-back system to pair with these pipes? I don't want the car to be too loud, but it definitely needs a deeper tone.

Stock, everything else will make it even worse.

Also, search and stickies are your friends.

That's odd that your's drones with at setup? You're rear muffler is unmodified/stock? I ran a macht schnell xpipe and stock muffler for years and it was quiet till you get on it and then sounded great. Zero drone.

I know EAS paired an MS xpipe with a MXP mevius exhaust (if you can find one) and according to them it sounded Ferrarish at the top end. Check YouTube

All of you guys are missing the main point; it's a RACE x-pipe, meaning (like op said) primary and secondary cats are removed.

It's effectively a straight pipe system with a small 5" baffle/resonator and that's it. Every race pipe will sound like this and are loud as shit.

If that's someone you want, ok, but have fun with your ear drums.

More silencers/resonators or baffles are needed to quiet it down; hence why I suggested just keeping the stock exhaust. Anything that opens it up past the x-pipe is going to make it super loud.

I would recommend to find a legit shop that can weld in some vibrant resonators. The problem with the MS x pipe is it makes it difficult to fit them with the flange location. Nothing a shop with someone who can weld TIG cant fix. And PSA: If they only offer MIG, walk out because they're hacks and cant weld for shit.

Turner valved exhaust is perfect. Not too loud, no rasp at all, perfect flow even with valves closed.

Pm me if you want to purchase one

If his exhaust is too raspy and drones stock then any catback will make it worse. Especially a valvetronic because after 4k rpms and on start up it will be loud as shit. OP needs to address his X pipe issue.

Akra slip on. It's a relatively quiet muffler but with a catless race x pipe should be a good sound and not too loud.

Any type of "race" muffler will be very loud with a catless x pipe.

My e92 came with akra slip on and stock x pipe. I threw one the catless macht schnell and its pretty quiet, many people at meets say it sounds almost stock. Im actually selling it to get something louder. Its also very raspy

I also have MS catless X pipe. I’ve tried pairing it with the following rear sections:

1. Turner SS valved - Great sound & tone but WAY too loud valves open and a moderately loud valves closed.

2. Akra - Good tone but almost inaudible from inside the cabin. I think a non resonated Ti X pipe would’ve been perfect (cough cough GT4)

3. E. Race - Nearly perfect volume and tone just a tad bit of drone in 2.5-3k but shifting past it makes it no problem.

4. Dinan - My current and here to stay. Just as loud as E race but no drone at all. Also much lighter than E. Race and arguably looks better too, minus the dummy tips.

So there you have it, took me about 18 exhaust combos to get to this point. Also I’d say for valved exhaust if it’s not Kreissieg or Meisterschaft, just avoid them as they are gonna be incredibly noisy with no good character or tone. Just a loud chainsaw noise. You want exotic, get Dinan or Eisenmann race.
