DCT E90 M3 - 2011 oil and Pan change and problem

hello

BMw dealer changed the DC oil and all filters and the pan and, since that time, I have an intermitent problem as, the car start but when I want to put on D or R, there is nothing happening and, this error message comes. Sometimes, we close the engine and restart and, all is good to go.

the dealer has the car but cannot find the problem. Any idea ?

I had this car for 4 months without any problem and suddenly after the job, the problem have started.

I have a feeling its the mecanical lock that is not totally actived or desactivated and/or the sensor that send a message to the computer.

However, the dispay say that we can continue to drive... but, the car is on PARK.

DCT fluid service doesn't involve touching sw or control. Bloody irritating if the box worked fine prior service. And the dealer claim they touched nothing except for the pan/filter?

It seems as the problem has been found. A ground between the transmission and the chassis was loose. He had to drop the transmission a little bit to change the gasket at the top. It seems this fixed the problem. Did not know the ground was so important for a car,,,

Grounds are critical. Bad grounds add resistance and voltage drops. Electronics will not work properly, heat up and could fail.

Maintaining the correct voltage is extremely important

there arent any serviceable sensors on the mdct, its just the gearbox and the gearshifter. it sounds like you have a mechatronics that isnt responding.

you can try to update the sw on the mechatronics and go from there, you need a professional tool to diagnose the issue. cant guess on the internet.

Did reconnecting a loose ground fix the issue or not? I'm confused why we're still talking about this.
