E92 passenger headlight out
My headlight had condensation in it, the car was sitting for awhile so there was enough time for components to be damaged. I’ve replaced the d1s bulb, the ballast and the light still won’t turn on but flickers once on startup and then stays off. Stepper motor has corrosion on it so that has to be done too. Here is a picture of the corrosion on the ballast. Any next steps to try to get this light working so I can reseal it? I can also check the wiring with a multi meter if anyone has suggestions.

I ended up with the same issue. My passenger light suffered from condensation and when I left the car for a couple weeks, it ended up frying the ballast.
I ended up surfing ebay for a replacement light. They're in the $300-$400 range while the price of a new ballast itself varies (the OEM one is near $600!). All that is to say that after you've ended up trying to do all this troubleshooting, you're better off just buying a used lamp unit. |

The wiring in the headlight lens starts to shed insulation at multiple points. Likely have a wiring short. The wiring harness isn’t available for purchase, you best bet is buy a used headlight or buy a salvaged headlight and swap in the wiring. That ballast looks bad.
