My version of gloss black grilles

I bought a set of matte black grilles from JLeviSW many full moons ago thinking I'll install it in my E92 335xi. However, I never actually get to doing that. so, I ended up installing it in the M3. I brought them to the friendly local body shop, Sansossio Autobody in Natick, MA and asked the owner's son to help me out once again. He's the master mind behind my custom one-off E92 aero kit rear bumper, and the cross fade Vorsteiner CF trunk. We decided to just paint the surrounds and leave the slats matte black. Here's the results of the front grilles:

I also ordered a set of OEM side turn signals from Tischer to have those painted as well. I had him prep the chrome and paint it gloss black to match the front grilles. Also I asked him to shave off the M3 badge and fill the hole. After we installed the grilles, we realize there's too much contrast between the grilles and the side turn signals, so we ended up smoking the side turn signals too. Here are the results:

I know the M3 debadging is not for everyone. To me, it looks cleaner, and I don't need everyone to know that I drive an M3. That's all.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Car is coming along great, Kev! I'm surprised how well you got the signal tint to match the gloss black.

That's what I'm trying to achieve Plain, understated. Last thing I want is everyone trying race me after I have been on call for however many hours I have to be on.

That looks excellent.

I like the front grills on the OP's car; sides aren't for me, but to each his own. I like debadging personally, but certain badges are really nice looking. For me the M logo is one such example...
