Angel Eyes using Flexible LED Strips (Audi Style)
Does anyone know if the halo rings in the headlights are solid plastic or are they tube-like?
I was thinking that if they are tubes, we could simply feed a flexible LED light strip (see attached images) through them and have the "Audi" look with the full brightness of direct LED's. This would be fairly simple and probably the ultimate solution. The only other way would be to simply mount the LED strips with double sided tape on top of the halos inside the headlight housing. What do you guys think? |

Still would have the same problem as led's now... they would be very dim and hardly visible in the day. Plus the light tubing is very skinny and you would have to cut it up to get this in. Also the inner rings are sealed and produced by projection of the light bulb and not by the tubing like the outer rings.
good idea though it would take some modification to look right but its possiable. |

Wow, that custom setup looks great, I definitely think this is the way to go.
We need to get a "plug'n'play" version of these. I believe the LED's would be just as bright in the daytime as the Audi's. LED's are actually very bright when you view them head-on. The reason that the current LED setup for the halos is so dim is because LED's are simply not good at projecting light. This is a well know fact. |

+1, these are not the original E46 headlights that are modular and can be taken apart easily. Baking open your 1K-a-side headlights in the oven is not the smartest thing to do in my books, even for some awesome looking angel eyes. Also, there's a chance of improper seal that can cause condensation, and dust getting caught inside your headlight affecting projection pattern of the light.
