DINAN INTAKE vs MS FILTER

whatsup guys, I currently have the MS filter with rpi scoops.....ALOT of people recommended I go with the Dinan Intake set-up for an extra couple hp (I have every other bolt on already)...do you guys think its worth it?

Also, does the dinan intake filter sit in the intake box like the MS filter? Meaning since I already bought the adapter for 2011/euro box to make the MS filter already fit, would I have to change it back to stock for the dinan filter?

Also, I have a custom OE dynotune...you think by the increased flow with the larger diameter charge pipe/filter that I should get retuned (car will be a little lean), or I should be fine.....

thanks again !

Looks great but you'll not feel any different from MS filter in terms of any power gain.
I had MS originally then moved to Dinan. Now I'm back to MS filter.

If you want to complete Dinan theme, it's great looking, perfect fitment C/F peace that will help you to complete your theme but if you're looking for some more power gains, you'll not get it.

I doubt it will even give you 2-hp vs. you MS. The only reason to do it is cosmetic. If you like the look and have the cash, then it's a nice touch.

well,i have to disagree about the CF piece since its same size all the way vs the stock narrows down and there is a restriction right there.
I never had the MS filter but i had the Dinan and it was good.Did i notice a difference?? car sounded better, more responsive under acceleration......
Your tune will take advantage of all the stuff you get done to the car as cat delete, filter, headers and etc...........

afe stage 2 is a much larger inlet with a smaller filter - wanted to test it but I have $500 thats better in other places.

ERM - we've found that the ms filter + rpi scoops + gintani / dinan pulley + gintani x pipe + whatever rear mufflers + custom tune you want is a good dynapack 400+whp setup. If you don't have the scoops go for it. I'm looking for that next mod to make me more power. Be it headers or some sort of intake.

Thanks bren....I have every single mod you listed including the scoops, I just heard from a couple people that the Dinan charge pipe flows alot better than the stocker, hm...what to do for more power besides a blower..

so dinan intake/filter is equivalent to just a drop in filter.. not sure if I want to get the dinan now.

I had it before and if Dinan was 500-ish, I would recommend it for whatever small gain you get + awesome look but with 1k price tag, it wasn't worth it (at least to me).
You can buy nice C/F lip (or BMW Performance splitters + spoiler) for 1k and it would be better cosmetic mod.

I was able to get brand new Dinan intake for under 600 (won 200 dollars Dinan giftcard raffle + sale price) so I bought it but at the end of the day, I didn't feel any power gain so I sold it and bought other cosmetic mods. =)

I'm using MS filter (I would Active green filter next) now and happy with it even though I sometimes miss awesome look Dinan CF piece under the hood.

Whats your reasoning for going with the Active green filter next?

I don't know exactly and I don't know how much R&D went in for MS filter.
Some vendors told me that it's exact same filter as S&B Filter (they look identical) which sells for less.

I used to love Active parts in my E36M3 and I know they put a lot of time for R&D. So I want to try cheaper (75 vs 100-ish) Active filter.

And.. it's GREEN!
