I fear a longer position like swing trading (days, weeks) would be too volatile to accurately predict.

depends on how you set up your stop losses, i used to do daily, now doing swings.

daily is only profitable when the market is in BULL mode.

Also if your on bitmex or leverage exchanges, thats different than trading on binance.

I second that.

I learned a lot from Chartvampire and CCU. Now I have my own strategy which works great. The important things are Strategy, Riskmamagement and a calm mindset. All 3 of them MUST be practiced.

Although I'm a Swingtrader, I now startet to accumulate for long time holding (min 3 years). But thats just a small part of my "playmoney".

IMO if you're going to be day trading/moderate swing trading you should be margin/leverage trading.

For the normal person not involved in illegal activity or trying to hide transactions, what is the point in using bitcoins? I get paid in US dollars, then convert them to bitcoins, spend the bitcoins, then either hold on to bitcoins or exchange them back to dollars? What is the benefit to me?

Confused as to when and why they will turn into a main portion of the currency used.

Like any other product I would expect that for me to change from my current system there has to be some benefit before I will do it.

am i the only one who is smiling about the current BTC situation? there has been so many gains all over the ALT coin world, and including BTC, which is currently trading at $5021. Some analysis believe we are getting ready for the next bull market.

Its crazy to see how many of you spend so much money on mods, while you could have bought a BTC bitcoin, or even $1000 worth of one, and you could have just left it there for 3-5, willing to bet that would be a nice return once you decide to cash in 5 years. Doesn't seem like many people here are involved in crypto. But maybe they are hiding.

The main draw for most is "get rich fast". I put bitcoins and other similar type currency up there with most any other get-rich scheme and wealth pipe dream. Sure, you can strike it rich with some luck and timing, but for the common investor who doesn't have piles of money laying around to play around with, this is a downright terrible investment choice. Plus it's a largely a dark currency right now used for illegal activity and heavily utilized by Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, and other terrible world players to get around sanctions.

Talk to most bitcoin investors and they routinely say, "but yeah, wait until 5 to 10 years for now....." I'll take my chances with most of my investments in low fee S&P 500 funds. I've played many of the games and lost. I've been in the market since the early 1990s. I've weathered at all the storms. I've lost up to 40% of my portfolio, only to have it come charging back and miles ahead. I've read books and I've personally seen the results. Patience and investing in reliable funds is how 99% of the common person with a sub $2M portfolio will financially succeed. I have money to play with and do risky one off investments occasionally and bitcoin is far from my radar.

IMO, if you've got less than $1M in financial assets like solid stocks, funds, cash, a home (i.e., you actually own it outright), bitcoin is a terrible choice to build wealth.

You're saying I we should invest more money and spend less on car mods. Crazy.

I don't invest in anything I don't understand the business case for using it so I am out. Also the "some analysis believe" doesn't mean much to me.

To each his own. I can say i had quite the success story, and i can say i profit almost every month from crypto. A house in 3-5 will have a higher resale value after 5 years wouldn't it ?

I'm definitely not the only one with a success story, but i just honestly think there's not a lot of investors in crypto on this forum. And of course lots of haters hating on the fact that some of us has made over 6 figures, and im going to say over and over again.

I didn't have lots of money when i started, maybe i was a little lucky indeed, but after the bull market, when everything came down crashing, i learned a lot about this type of market and how it works. Most alt coins came down 90%. And what happens after? Goes back up.

Not at all, im not trying to tell anyone what to do, more like an observation, you can spend 1000+ on a exhaust that looses its value instantly, where you could have use that for a portion of BTC and just HOLD. Im willing to bet, most of whoever would this, would be in profit. Anyone that purchased BTC under $4000, and had the right attitude and mindset will be successful in the near future.

And yeah most people here don't understand it at all, stock market is not the same thing, not even close.

This is for us younger generation, while most you older generation who believe the same old school ideas, house, stocks, bonds or whatever.

Will i invest in real estate? absolutely! Do i think its more stable ? Absolutely! - Matter of fact i bought a condo in 2010 for 175k and now its worth 400k. Its not fully paid off but i have maybe 20k left on it. On top of that all my cars are paid off. Not saying this to say that i got it, but i come from nothing and a 3rd world country, and made it with no rich parents, all on my own.

I took a gamble invested some money, and made insane returns.

Life's to short, try something different. You can gamble at a casino, $200-$300, that could go into BTC and the ROE would be much better in general.

Its a lot easier to invest in Crypto then real estate. Cheaper - for most the idea of cheaper and higher return is more appealing than real estate.

I have asked the same question and never received a satisfactory answer. It makes no sense. Especially in the current environment with such extreme volatility it would make no sense to transact for goods/services in BTC compared to USD.

There are lots of people saying we should invest in it, it will eventually be a large percentage of transactions but I have never heard why the average person would want to deal with it.

If the business plan is to capture a large percentage of illegal money transactions then at least I could understand what they are trying to accomplish. Then if the market it large enough and there is money to be made the person could decide if they want to be part of it (I wouldn't). Better than the never ending "everyone will be using it and it is awesome". Weird to me the number of people that are investing in a business where they don't seem to understand the business plan.

Yes, you should go all in as they’ve bottomed and will go much higher.

Hugely undervalued asset class with huge potential to go MUCH higher.

These are value producing assets that can never be duplicated, hacked, stolen, or lost. There is no way more could ever be created and nothing will be able to replicate it.

Crypto is definitely going to $100K or even $200k. Bottom is in and it’s going to explode higher. Get in while you can.
