The pad is simply just not big enough to cover the entire surface of the rotor. The AP racing kit has the same un-swept area and will leave rust where the pad is not in contact.

The pads that are standard will do just fine on street and some track. If you want to track hard and time attack the track you have to get race pads.

How should people look for new pads when they need to change them?...are the pads modified to fit the caliper?

The front pads don't require modifying.

I would suggest if you are looking for pads, use the vehicle type to come up with the appropriate pads from the manufacturer.

I have been using 2011 Audi R8 for search criteria when looking for pads and it has not been an issue. There is a lot of options out there.

Not sure...there is a pic many pages back on this thread, but it could just be a fitment issue.

There were two issues

First one with first version of the rear brakes. The ring was 4-5 mm. Now we are selling only version two that solves this problem.

Second issue was pointed out with a front kit, but it was just after installation of the pads. After few km they adjusted and the ring was gone.

ps. another set going to customer in Las Vegas

I would say disappointment was only one of the emotions I felt....

First there were the delays when ordered....disappointment

The lack of answers to my direct questions regarding the colour and affects from temperature.....frustration

Notification that the colour wasn't working and therefore I was informed to pick another colour and that it was delayed further.....frustration and disappointment.

Subsequent follow up with more questions that didn't get answered....annoyed

Notification that the colour was achieved and my calipers were being shipped....elated

Receipt of my calipers while I was away....excited and anxious

Initial inspection of my calipers. The colour was bold and bright....happy

Secondary inspection of calipers and noting that the colour was inconsistent where parts seemed to be lacking a gloss finish and had a satin hue....confused :

I finally decided enough. I should just be happy that I had them and I wouldn't notice it once it was on the car.

Finding out that the rear pads needed to be modified to fit....surprised

Looking at my car after they were installed...relief and admiration

Inspection after my first track day less then 24 hours....disbelief and confusion

Further disgust driving my car around with different colours calipers....

Lack of response when I inquired about a path forward to remedy the colour change....disappointment

Finally a response concerning my email about the colour change....17 days later...after the calipers have been removed and were being stripped down to be redone, at my expense....surprised

Another email from me outlining that I would be open to being compensated for the cost of redoing the colour. I offered what Albert's cost would be to have them shipped back, stripped, painted and shipped back to me as a fair reimbursement. I wasn't willing to send something back to Europe as I had no idea how long and I already had taken the situation into my own hands due to the lack of response from my initial email.

So I have no expectations here anymore. There's been no further communication since my offer and subsequently I leave you all with this....

"Buyer beware"

I am happy to say that my calipers are back and my car should be put back together by the weekend. If I only knew what was involved with this I may have thought twice. My initial email regarding the purchase of this kit was sent April 11 or thereabouts with a payment of April 18. Delivery was May 15, received them on May 25. Install occurred on June 1. Trackday on June 2 and subsequent email about colour change the same day after the track. Finally a response on June 19 with an offer to have them redone, but I would have to ship them back. My response was to simply reimburse his cost for this as this didn't seem like a reasonable solution at this point. Subsequently no response.

April 18 - July 1

Wow....has it been that long?
That's horrible. Sorry to hear about that experience. Sounds like a lot of heartaches and added cost when you thought you were going with a lower cost BBK solution. Do you wish you had gone with a full Brembo or StopTech kit in retrospect?

@albertracing needs to stand behind their product and make things right!

Wow, thanks for the heads up FMLYSDN. That is inexcusable. I'll just hold out for a proper BBK when I have money burning a hole in my wallet.

Exactly!

Once the black stickers are on and then they're behind a black wheel, I think they may look a tad darker.
