I HATE flying commercially, everything about it sucks. The showing up to the airport 3 hours before the flight, the stupid people, the problematic aircraft, the horrible airline customer service, etc. Your plane could crash, everyone would die except for you, and the airline would probably only offer you $10 off your next flight.

I had to travel to a training session for work for a week. I could either take a 45 min flight there or drive 5 hours. I chose to drive 5 hours in the BMW. Since I drove they paid me for mileage and I was able to bring my GF with me to the hotel. Definitely worth it since I would've probably spent the same amount of time sitting in the airport/on the plane/getting a rental car. And of course I would've had to go alone.

Just came back from a trip to California and the delays is what is soo irritating for me. They pushed the boarding time for our departure flight first 20 mins, then 45 mins and eventually an hour. And the cherry on top, the airline just said "sorry for the delay"

What are they supposed to say in the event of a delay? Or rather, what would you prefer they say?

Also, what was the delay for? Weather?

Violation of the coach/economy armrest rule: Window get window armrest. Middle gets both. Aisle gets aisle armrest. END OF STORY.

Crowding the gate before their row has been called. GTFO of my way.

equally, people who don't have their shit together getting on or off the plane, and stand in the isle holding everybody up.

it ain't hard, we've usually been stopped for about 5 minutes with the seatbelt sign off, the guys standing in the isle will happily pass you your bag from the overhead locker. if you want to get dressed or put something in/out of your bag, do it in your fucking seat and let everybody else past.

Just because you've got checked luggage and are in no hurry to get off, doesn't mean the guy behind you with his shit together doesn't have somewhere better to be.

Crew announces like “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard your flight. As you step onto my aircraft, take a quick glance into the cockpit. Yep, that’s me sitting in the captains’ seat, and that’s my first officer laughing about how he accidentally locked himself out of his hotel room. Naked. Again."

Any sort of delay longer than 10 minutes, whether it'd be checking in a bag, airport security, passport control but especially a delay while onboard with the temperature starting to rise.

Cancellations. Worst when I had a cancellation for an early morning flight. I had checked out of the hotel, taxi'd all the way to the airport then while at the airport the flight got cancelled till next day. I managed to get on another flight with a layover in ATL only to have missed the next flight by a few minutes. An 8hr wait in ATL makes me want to rip my eyes out with a spoon, soberly.

Delayed luggage. Pro tip. If you have to rush to your next flight on a layover you better not have checked a bag, I guarantee you your bag will not make it onto your next flight.

Oh lastly..... Chicken or pasta....chicken or pasta..... Chicken or pasta....chicken or pasta.....Chicken or pasta

Meh. Don't mind being stuck in an airport unless I really need to be somewhere. Hit the lounge, can still work, sip a few Ryes .. all good.
