I am picking up a car with black extended leather and red stitching in a week in Munich, I just paid for it, and I can tell you it's def not 2k. I dealt directly with Maria at BMW NA as well as Christine at BMW in Germany so it's not like my dealer could mess it up... I can't quote you an exact price cause the way my deal went through I was right at the time when they did they price change (and raised the price a lot) so I got something in between (as I was quoted multiple prices, and they honored the original price they quoted me in the end with some slight variation). So anyway, I don't have the exact number nowadays, but it has gone up significantly.

Not anymore. It's more in line with the $6300 other have quoted.

This must be a very recent development. I'm looking at an email I have from maria that says 2350 for dakar yellow leather inserts AND stitching. I also have an open line of communication with christine.. I speak with her quite often, and though we haven't had any converations along the lines of "hey christine any price hikes recently", its the sort of thing she would tend to mention to me.

I'll double check and post back on the board to confirm or disconfirm the above information.

It is hard to believe that the stitching alone cost more than the whole interior and the shifter/iDrive controller console trim color-coded Rust Brown that I'm ordering.

Thanks for squashing my dreams. Seriously though, it's really good to know. Thank you.

On a side note, what exterior are you looking at with Rust?

You can still get it but it will cost quite a lot.

I will be ordering Jerez Black.

All of this "exclusiveness" is getting more exclusive by the sounds of these rising prices. Actually not a bad thing in some respects!

And Technic....THAT will be stunning!!! About 6 or so weeks left, can't wait to see the pics.

Is that price if you order and individual exterior color ?, but 2350 for inserts and stitching is not too bad. I think BMW should stop this special order and make it normal like on the 7.

So it is no concidence that $4025 (Individual interior) plus some $2225 (Individual stitching) MSRP be added together to result in an $6300 charge when that was not the actual request.
BMWNA quoted my dealer $7,000 for full Rust Brown. I declined, but I don't think I would have paid $4,000 for it either. I'll tuck this away as a lesson learned though.

Somebody at BMWNA keep pressing the Individual charge key twice...

The way that I see it is that I will be paying $1855 (invoice) extra over the regular Extended Leather option for a different color, color coded plastic trim pieces and leather front seatbacks.

Considering that my current M3 bought from the dealer's lot included the useless $1900 Enhanced Audio Premium Sound that I ended up completely removing it by coding, $1855 for the interior color that I really wanted all this time is a good deal, IMO.

Doing an ED also helps in indulging in these Individual options as well.

Hmm, maybe I'll ask Ryan how much replacing the cloth with anthracite alcantara costs.

I still don't know why this option doesn't exist in E9x M3's. In E46 M3 plenty of people ordered F2AT (alcantara/leather).

One thing to consider is that any custom Individual quote -stitching, color-coded plastics, bicolor steering wheels, laser-stenciled Piano Black trim and such- is subject to Euro/Dollar rates at the time of that quote.

So a price quoted to one forum member not necessarily will be the same price for another. And on top of that, your own particular dealer could add quite a markup to whatever quote they receive from BMWNA - after BMWNA receiving their own quote from Individual.

Ask your local dealer or one of the forum vendors for your own particular quote so it will be exact to you. Some forum vendors just charge straight invoice on Individual options.

And by the way: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...7&postcount=81

That's the reason of the absurdly high price, or so Individual says.
what what what? that's ridiculous to charge that much for stitching.

Once, a while ago, I had a full leather interior installed in an Acura from an installer a dealer recommended, it was tucked and stitched completely like factory. (Dealer had a cloth car and I wanted leather). I'm getting a MR car with the red/black interior and would love to do deviated stitching in red. I will really take a look at some auto upholsters. The deviated stitching is taking the old stitching out and replacing it in the exact same holes. Really a basic hand job that doesn't take a rocket scientist, just a craftsman. Should be doable for WAY less than $2k.

Wish I was on this forum before buying my car. I didn't even know you could ORDER an M3. I got it off the lot just like my last 4 cars. I don't have the patience to wait on an ordered car but if I could get rust leather in my jet black that could've made me wait. Lesson learned. Before I get my next car (likely a P) I'll lurk on their forum for 6 months before I ORDER it.

One thing to consider is that the custom stitching includes the extended leather portion ($1100) in that price.
